This is another return visit and another pleasant stay as I had expected. I've stayed at the hotel often enough that some hotel associates would be able to greet me by my last name when they meet me. Always nice to have a bit more personal greetings after a long day.
A couple of things worth highlighting from this stay:
My flight was delayed so have to do one conference call while eating. I called the front desk on my way to the hotel asked them to order room service for me even before my arrival so that the food will be ready when I arrived when I have to host my conference call. The front desk staff accommodated my request without hesitation. On top of that, when I arrived for check in, the keys and the paper work have all been completed and they also waived the deposit to save me time. It took me less than five minutes to get to my room and my lunch is ready to be served. What a perfect arrangement and I really appreciated the above and beyond efforts from the collective team to make it possible.
Also worth noticing is the attentive serve at the buffet restaurant for breakfast. One of the head waiter recognized me and greeted me by my last name which was nice. What I really appreciated is that she took the efforts to remember my preference from the first day so that when I showed up the rest of the week, the green tea, the plain yogurt and the chili source are all waiting for me. Among all the different hotels I've stayed, only the few top luxury ones offered such personalized service and I did not expect to have that here and the extra efforts she and the collective team took to deliver such personal experience is really pleasing.
One areas of improvement however, is the bath facility which probably needs an upgrade. Maybe because the hotel is fully booked, it took quite a while to get the hot water in each shower and there has been several times that I have to use barely warm water to finish my shower as the water has not heated up to the desired temperature until the end of it. I have contacted the manager on duty for help who did dispatch an associate to check but she could not find anything wrong. According to her, that's "expected situation" with the full occupancy they're having. I'm happy that this great hotel is getting more and more popular with other fellow guests but not sure I would accept that as an "reason / excuse" of barely warm bath water. On top of the temperature, the water pressure is also quite low and the shower head can be upgraded. Of course, this is probably more of a hardware upgrade than something the hotel management can control directly. Still hope they can consider an upgrade in the bath facility which will make a big difference as bath and bed are probably the top two hardware factors behind a satisfying stay.
Overall, still a pleasant stay and I will definitely return for my next visit. Hope the bath issues will be...
Read moreI have stayed in this hotel for 3 times, and finally this is the first time I have ever got an email asking me to write a review.
The pros of this hotel is the software - staff. Staff service is pretty warm and impressive. I appreciate Martha and Lynn (41th floor) assistance at all times. Doris, Marie and Ms. Ye looked after me nicely everyday when I came to 6th floor for breakfast. Doris is also very helpful and delighted when seeing my at 41th floor too.
However, disappointingly, the hardware of this hotel is a nightmare. Every time I check in, I have to ask for changing the chair in the room which was always shaky. The room I last stayed, 4108 always had a smell from the drain. At the time I stayed in hotel, it was around -16 deg C outside, I have to ask for one more quilt because the room temperature could never be set higher to 24 or 25 deg C. It always remains 17 deg C the maximum. The room door did not close automatically, so I asked for a fix on it. After few days, it failed again (and I had given up to complain about it). The TV in ALL the rooms that I had stayed so far (including my last stays) always gave me a feeling that they are going to fall down soon, because of the movable arm mounting was so badly design that it could not support the weight of the TV.
I actually was having a business trip with my colleagues and all staying in this hotel under a contract signed with your Sales department. To be honest, this is the first hotel that the sales person never appears to say Hi and asks us about the staying experience as all. He only called my colleague in the beginning of this year because he wanted us to renew the contract.
I am very very disappointed with this hotel despite the lovely staff service I...
Read moreThis is definitely not a Holiday Inn standard. It redefines my understanding on Holiday Inn!! Location: Very close CBD area, Wangjing is pretty much the place you can get everything. The airport is 20-30 minutes if the traffic is good. Make sure you know how to use Uber, Yidao or other taxi apps. Don't take regular taxi, seriously, Uber is way much better. The subway station is about 1.5 km from the hotel, I can walk from there since I enjoy walking. Make sure you don't confuse this property with Holiday Inn Express which is just 400 meters from here.
Service: The staff here are very attentive. They helped me with my luggage and always available whenever I have questions. I arrived early in the morning, and they offered me an early check-in. The late check-out until 4pm is guaranteed for Platinum ambassador member.
IHG membership: I have IHG Platinum ambassador, here's what I got. High-speed wifi, free drink voucher, six complementary soft drinks in Mini-bar per day (Yes, six per day!). An upgrade to executive floor with lounge access. Welcome fruit plate.
lounge: I had breakfast here, and it's on the 41st floor. Very quiet in general, and the staff here were friendly! The happy hour serves hot food, and alcohol. You really don't get this in other Holiday Inn in the U.S or Europe. It's even better than some of Intercontinental I have stayed before. Just stay here, you don't get a hotel with this quality in anywhere else in the world. Especially they treat IHG...
