I was assigned this hotel by my colleagues who booked accomodation for us. It is well-situated in an area near the CCTV building with offices and retail malls nearby. There's also a Dawang MRT station just down the road. I've stayed in the same hotel back in 2009 but the hotel has aged badly ever since. The hotel reek of stale cigarette smoke & stained everything as with all lower end hotels in China. What greet you in the bathroom is a 'condom' display with various names such as "vibrated condom", "the passions lasting condom" and "happy vibration sex product". It seems to cater to a certain crowd, probably in and out in less than an hr. There's no rotation of menu items in the breakfast offerings, you expect the same thing every day, like you are trapped in a bad episode of Groundhog Day. The bed is a little too hard, not firm hard which I prefer, but it felt like sleeping on a wooden board with linens. The water pressure in the shower is quite uneven. WIFI tends to play a game of hide-and-seek with you so do not expect instant gratification when you log on. The TV set in the room says CNN or HBO on Channel 43 but you end up with pro-China Channel News Asia with very sterile news, no difference from watching the Chinese broadcasters. There are 3 lifts at the lobby but it seems to play musical chair with you at times. The reception staff are the gruffy "Old Beijing" types, not the progressive ones you get at the boutique hotels in Beijing. So, all the best if they demand payment from you if you do laundry. Btw, laundry prices are sky-high. There's an affordable one at Soho on the 2nd floor across the road. One of the days, I stayed in the rom when housekeeping came. The chambermaid cleaned the room in under 10 minutes. She only replaced the soap, water, tidy the sheets and that's it. No vacuuming the floor or changing the sheets so expect the room to be in pretty much the same state that you left it. Interestingly enough, there's a pancake restaurant on the ground floor that isn't too bad, prices are good too. Ironically, although the hotel is named "Winterless", it felt like winter everyday in the room even when the aircon is turned down to the lowest setting. I turned the AC entirely off after a few days. I havent tried the heater during winter but please bring your down jackets to the room. The only bright spot is that the bellboy is nice enough. Stay there only if you do not wish to try 8 days, Super 8 or...

Read moreStayed here for 1 week. At a glance, the lobby seems decent and spacious. Many people walk in and out just like any other hotels.|Luckily, we speak mandarin so communication is not a problem for us. What is the problem is that the whole hotel smells of smoke.|Air pollution in Beijing is bad enough. Given the whole hotel stinks of cigarette smell makes this place unfriendly for non smokers even though there are no smoking signs all over the place.|We got the large room on 8th floor. The room is generously spacious. They even provided a air purifier. Something you don’t often see.|Just by opening the window, the display on the air purifier PM 2.5 skyrocketed to 176!!!|The only thing I was able to adjust on the air conditioner was the speed and not the temperature.|The temperature display on the air purifier was anywhere between 26-28 degrees Celsius.|The bed was so hard, I only slept one night out of jet lag. The rest, I pretty much woke a few times just to drink some water. It’s quiet enough at night, but there are condoms in the toilet for guest to purchase. Obviously, the locals use this place for pleasure.|The water from the shower smells like wet ashtray so again, I guess smokers won’t mind.|This place is dry so most of my laundry dried within the night.|If you’re looking for a budget hotel and don’t mind smoking and smelling like a walking cigarette, this is the place....
