At first glance this hotel seemed to be well-located, as it is right at a busy 4-way intersection with a rotary and pedestrian bridge outside. That is, until you actually explore and find that there's nothing worth visiting around there. Yes, lots of stores and some restaurants, but really none of note. The hotel itself is pretty old, and in disappointing condition given that it is managed by a 4-star airline. My room door, wooden and creaky, had to be forced shut. Lighting in the room was laughably crooked, no minibar, no free bottled water, furniture very dated, bathtub missing stopper. Room control panel near the bed is difficult to figure out (i.e. no English), even for a seasoned traveler. The check-in staff were friendly, but when I checked out I couldn't find my key they charged me 30rmb for it. In the States I usually keep my keys but in China many Chinese hotels demand return. No big deal, but 30rmb is steep compared to the room price, which is actually the best thing about the hotel. There's also free internet and surprise surprise HBO. It was dirt cheap at under $30 a night, so based on that I am giving this 3 stars...
Read moreHighly recommend to stay at somewhere else, given the reasons below:1. Location - the hotel is not as close to the subway station or bus station, esp when it is in Chongqing where it’s full of hills or stairs; 2. Service - the hotel is short of staff. It took us a long time to complete check in, as there was only one staff available at the front desk and guests kept coming in with requests;3. Room - room size is small, compared with Ji or Atour, it might be only 2/3 of a Ji’s room; what’s worse, you can smell the smoke from other rooms even when you stay in a non-smoking room!4. Amenities - water pressure of shower head is not enough. The price is relatively cheaper than other hotels, but it’s not worth the...
Read moreI chose this hotel because I wanted to be near Niujiaotuo station - it is just a two minute walk away from A1 entrance to the underground path that leads to exit 4. I had a lot of laundry because I had been on a cruise ship, and I was happy to find there are two laundry rooms on two floors. The hotel has a mini program that you can use to check when your laundry is done - and both the washer and dryer are free to use. There wasn't much of a view from my room, but it was big enough for me, bright and warm. Breakfast was fine for this...
