东莞松山湖凯悦酒店 — Hotel in Dongguan

This hotel is amazing, but the location is mediocre. The breakfast buffet doesn’t have a ton of western options, but there is fruit, eggs Benedict, and cereal, and the Chinese food is also very good. The dinner buffet is huge, but doesn’t change much day to day.

The Japanese restaurant is amazing, but a bit pricey. The down stairs bar gives more alcohol in the mixed drinks then the up stairs cafe, and it has a small selection of food and cigars. The restaurant next to the bar is very quality food. The cafe upstairs has the best western choices, but the menu isn’t huge. By far the best option for food is the Cantonese restaurant in he ground floor, it has tons of amazing food.

The pool options are insane, an indoor lap pool, hot tub, cold tub, a 2nd hot tub, a large heated pool with jetted beds and large showers in the pool. The bathroom has another hot tub, cold tub, steam room, sauna, and has all the bathroom amenities like tooth brushes, combs, hair dryers, etc... The outdoor pool is big with an island and it goes all the way up to the edge of the lake. There’s a large kids water park with a large water slide, and a tanning area.

There’s a crappy outdoor shopping area you can walk to, but it’s just mid class food mostly. The lake has a very nice trial though, and I highly recommend a walk there. Don’t be fooled though, it’s a 10 mile loop around the lake and half of that is on the highway, so only walk half way and then return back the direction you started.

The staff really goes the extra mile, unlike anywhere else I’ve been. They clean my room and fold my clothes, out my tooth brush in a cup and toiletries on a hand towel. They really try to do everything they can. They also brought me a real cake with candles for my birthday, which was nice because I had even forgotten it was my birthday. There is free parking, and a covered waiting area for pickups, but nowhere to sit outside while you wait for your car. I will start with positive: service is always excellent in this hotel, everyone who works there do their best to help and arrange guest’s needs. We loved the choices of restaurants, food was excellent, cocktails at the bar were delicious, spa area with sauna and swimming pool was great and clean. Garden and green area around beautiful. Negative: in our room the shower was not very clean, large ball or black hair was stuck on the wall of shower. When we got our room service order, ripped off leg of cockroach was laying on the tray next to the plate of food. We asked for an extra bed for our son, they brought a bed that was more a torture device, the wire spirals from the mattress was coming up and digging into the back when laying on this torture bed. My son could not sleep on that bed, no one could. And we ended up sleeping on one bed 3 people, it was not comfortable at all. Another thing, we have noticed that guests at the pool are allowed to spit into the main pool water. One guy rinsed his mouth and gargled and spit that water in the pool where people are swimming. The Hyatt Regency Dongguan offers a very comfortable and relaxing stay, and the staff’s ability to communicate in English was a big plus, making everything more convenient.I particularly enjoyed having breakfast outdoors while watching the sunrise—it was such a serene and memorable experience. The staff went out of their way to accommodate this request, which I truly appreciated. The breakfast itself was decent, with a nice variety to start the day on a positive note.However, one downside was that no one assisted me with my luggage.
