FOSHAN AISHANG HOTEL — Hotel in Foshan

Trip.com’s 1970 reviews claimed this place was amazing and I now what it meant - “Amazingly bad”. I asked for a non-smoking room, which the front desk checked by sending her housekeeping colleague to do so. That was a red flag. Consequently, I went to the room and the room has a dull tobacco smell. I called the front desk, who deployed a colleague that claims to be sensitive to “cigarette smell”. I thought my instruction was unclear and I made myself clear again and said I asked for a non-smoking room. She insisted she’s the most sensitive. I didn’t ask for a sniffer by the way, and if I did - maybe she is the best in the game. Better than this client. Then the game was FINALLY revealed - “Oh, the guests on the same floor smokes and it probably got into your room.” Do these people know how to operate a hotel? Or do they know how to operate a hotel? The wallpaper is peeling. The soundproofing is very good if only if it was for a Taylor Swift concert that you are sneaking up on. Other than excellent toilet paper which is comparable to European standards, I will suggest giving this place a miss.I found that I was staying on A SMOKING FLOOR next morning when I found the ash tray...

For furniture buyers it is ok but not leisure travellers. Too far away from the commercial and tourist spots. None of the hotel staff that I interacted with like changing a mouldy mini fridge in my room took a lot of chicken and duck talking. Supervisor is not helpful on information to get around even though the communication was in Chinese. This lady staff only recommended taking the taxi and any queries about taking the metro was met with a blank wall answer as she did not appear to be familiar or in possession of communicating via the metro. Her reply was "nobody takes the metro, everyone takes the taxi". For distances less than 10 km ( my understanding and experience) it may be feasible to take the taxi (private hire cars through the China apps - try not to take the taxi as they are generally more expensive) and any destinations further it may be more convenient and worthwhile for the fare for a point to point transportation that you may not get...
