As a foreigner, this hotel made me very welcome, the check-in clerk was very quick and answered any questions I had, with regard to wifi, meal times and so on.||||I stayed in room 1122 Wow it was amazing, so bright and fresh a nice flat screen tv with a host of Tv channels (Tv Guide beside the bed) enough to keep anyone entertained.||||The Bathroom was probs one of the best I have seen with a choice of a Bathtub which had a shower above, but also it had a separate second shower which had plenty of room. The toilet was clean and fresh which also had a small night light fitted behind for those in need after dark. What a great selection of those little extras that one often forgets to pack just to help your stay to be more pleasurable.||||This hotel sure has remembered everything when it comes down to room comfort, easy controls for the aircon/heating, a strong wifi connection which was free also, and also catered for those of you who have a wired connection along with various connections ports to connect your device to the TV.||||Did I sleep well?? I sure did, the bed was ever so comfortable, with no noises heard from other guests.||||With having to get up early I was able to catch the Continental Buffet Breakfast which had an awesome selection of food and drinks.||||Would I stay here again?? YES YES YES ||||Very Happy Customer, Thank YOU ever...
Read moreWe flew from Bangkok to LAX on a Guangzhou-based airline (3rd Largest in the world.) We had a 9-hour layover for which the airline gave us our choice of 3 hotels: 2 5-star and a 4-star. We chose this one since it would allow us to see the city. It is located 30 min. from the new terminal and the trip was pleasant in an electric van. We were given a free transit visa-Thank you to whoever is responsible for that. Check-in was easy and the room was clean though a bit dated in materials and style. Everything in the two-room suite on the 19th floor is controlled by a clock on the bedside table: lights, TV (2 of them). AC, etc. Huge bathroom with tub. Kingsize bed.||Location is a bit confusing for me as a westerner. On our side of the building were empty buildings which appeared to be awaiting demolition or something. Needless to say, we only slept an hour or so, walked through the neighborhood and visited some of the shops where the people were very friendly and helpful. A van returned us to the airport in time to make our flight. Altogether the stay didn't cost us a dime and we got a free tour of the...
Read moreI was flying to Perth, Australia, and had a 22 hour layover in Guangzhou. Someone mentioned I could stay at a hotel of my choosing for free (It would be paid by the airline). I chose the New Century Hotel, and was pleasantly surprised. I got a free up-grade upon check-in. The room was huge! I felt like it was only missing a stove and full fridge and it would be an apartment! The bathroom was large and clean, they provided me with a toothbrush, toothpaste, and a comb, which was good because I had stupidly packed all that in my checked luggage.|The reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 was the carpet was pretty filthy. It had been vacuumed and all. But it looked a little stained and worn.|Also, there is very limited access to English speakers. And they speak very limited English. I'm not complaining about that, I do know that I was the foreigner there. I'm just pointing that out as something to consider for any potential travellers. I'm pretty sure the vast majority of Guangzhou...
