Panyu Xiangjiang Hotel — Hotel in Guangzhou City

Some of the reviews are not about this hotel. There is a Chime Long hotel that is closer to the theme parks.||||That one is CHIME LONG HOTEL, this one is XIANGJIANG.||||This one is much cheaper of course.||||Xiangjiang Hotel has ONLY 1 shuttle per day to go to Chime Long theme parks. It leaves at 10 am. THAT IS IT.||||It will pick you up for return to hotel from Chime Long theme parks at 9:45. The Parks close at 9-9:30.||||This shuttle service is VERY INADEQUATE.||||Your other choice is either the rude taxis, or take a number 6 bus to a subway, which is right outside of the hotel, then take the subway (1 stop) to Chime Long.||||Room is ok, there is smoke smell, but that is common in China....||||Service in the hotel is OK. Food is OK.||||But THE TAXIS ARE HORRIBLE IN GUANGZHOU! BE PREPARED! If you only need a ride for a short distance, they don't use the meter, the taxi driver just yell a price at you, you don't like it, they leave. All of them are like that. Even the taxi drivers are taxi stands don't go by the meters. Worst I have seen in big cities in China.||||Also the bus driver was rude. I hope not all bus drivers are like that. Stayed at this hotel to get to Chimelong paradise, circus and safari. Couldn't get to Chimelong hotel as it was booked out. It was a sad hotel and smelt of smoke constantly. We booked the luxurious suite which was supposedly the best rooms in the place, but it was smelly with cigarette smoke. Size was great for kids to move around in. Toilets were old and very dated. Our shower was clogged and didn't drain well. Worse thing was that all the suites were facing the road and as double glazed windows/balcony doors were non-existent, it was very noisy the whole night. Would recommend the executive rooms on level eight which were opp. ours if you are looking for a budget hotel. it's quieter and more value for money. Book through a travel agent, prices are better than directly booking with the hotel. convenient to the chimelong theme park with your own driver. Also, breakfast (chinese) was cheap at 23 yuan/person. go early though, they don't really replenish...
