Holiday Inn Express Hangzhou Huanglong — Hotel in Hangzhou City

One of the bad hotel that I have stayed. Hated the dimly lighted corridor & lift lobby, reminded me of those cheap hotel that allow “working women” to use the rooms.||Anyway, room is spacious as I stayed at the suite room at 17th floor. Toilet & bathroom is separated by glass cubicles. Sink & mirror is unusually low even for Asians’ height.||There is a kitchen sink without taps, a small stove with an over-sized kitchen hood.||No dressing table & mirror for the ladies.||In the morning there are slight renovation noises from above the room. No need ear plugs.||Room is not well furnished to normal hotel international standards.||However, front desk is helpful if you could speak Chinese.||Have not encountered strict security issues faced by an Indian reviewer who stayed here for 10 days still subject to daily security checks. Maybe, because I could speak Chinese & looked Chinese, so I’m not subject to checking.||Breakfast is the normal Chinese food, nothing to shout about and the dining room is rather warm like without AC.||The hotel is hidden behind Delixi office building where there is a cafe & a convenient shop.||Metro station is far about 4 traffic junctions away, probably about 500 m from the hotel. Would pass by the Metro company, asked the guard where is the Metro station, he said don’t know!?! He should be sack, Metro staff does not know where is the Metro station? Currently there is road ( metro extension ) & pavement ( drainage) constructions along the way.||I would not return to this...

I decided to try out this hotel out of curiosity. It is actually part of an office complex, and located behind the main tower of the landlord.||||Location wise, it is actually on a very good site. On one site, it is located next to the Zhejiang University campus. Around it, there were plenty of eateries, both western and Chinese, especially inside the EAC Complex, which was about 200 m from the hotel.||||The main road outside the hotel leads all the way to the Hangzhou Botanical Garden, which itself is adjacent to West Lake. I actually rode a Mobike (useful APP to have in China) to the garden. As it was down slope, it took me just about 13 minutes without breaking much sweat. It was just a straight road downhill all the way!||||As most buildings around it were office towers and government department, the surroundings was not complicated nor noisy. More so it is located behind the main building.||||The hotel staff were very helpful, even hail (using an APP) a cab for me to go to the airport.||||Breakfast was more than adequate and tasty. It was very nice looking out at the Chinese garden outside the hotel while having breakfast. Will definitely come back to stay again.||||Just a word of caution for foreigners (nothing to do with the hotel). Hangzhou is where Alibaba's HQ is. Most taxi drivers prefer mobile payment, and they don't have much cash for change. If you are taking cabs, make sure you have enough...

The best budget hotel in Hangzhou only if you can speak ChineseThe hotel is newly built, clean and at decent location. Everything was fine except the service of the staff.

I had to wait for forty(40)minutes in a precious morning time 8am to check out because the only staff stood at the front could not speak any simple english. She brought me into the front desk and we started to communicate with baidu translator.

However, she was still completely lost what she should do and the rest of staff were in service for breakfast in the mezzane floor.

I asked to bring other staff but it was denied, she ignored me and worked for other guests while I'm still standing at the front desk on the staff side.

Later, a man who looked like manager came for work and he processed check out. I explained the whole situatio to the manager and inform him to complain to the franchise. I have never experienced this kind of service at any level of hotel but i did even though i have tier in this chain.

I understand and hope this is the common problem of newly opened hotel and this hotel gets better soon.

Apart from some less skillful or professional staffs and inexperienced staff, the room condition, facilities, cleaness all the thongs were fine.

so i would like to define this hotel as in the title.
