Sheraton Qiandao Lake Resort — Hotel in Hangzhou City

We stayed for 5 nights and it was perfect. Great spg plat recognition! We were upgraded to lake view suite and the view was breathtaking! The entire staff were so nice and attentive. We had a bathroom issue with our suite on day 3 and we escalated it. The manager came and arranged for us an identical room on 13th floor. The outdoor pools are not open yet due to the weather but you can tell it’s a very fun pool with a pool side bar and children’s pool and everything. I enjoyed the indoor pool which is very nicely sized for workouts (25m by 10m). The locker room was also very clean and had all the steam room and whirlpool etc. The location is perfect. This hotel is located in a gated high end community. The area not only has panoramic view of the beautiful lake but also a long and nicely constructed pedestrian walkway, which is great for a leisurely walk or biking. The area is also close to many lake themed restaurants and shops nearby, where you can have fish head soup. The ride to the high speed railway station is about 30mins. It is such an enjoyable ride because you get to see the amazing lake and islands and roadside gardens.||The breakfast is standard. It has a decent collection of hot food and noodle and egg stands. ||Some minor minuses to be mindful of. The club lounge is a weak link. During our stay there they didn’t have white wine or bottle water (which is ridiculous because you can get bottled water for free at the lobby). You’d need to ask the attendant to get water. In my opinion, this hotel offers one of the best views in China. If you are planning to stay here, be sure to ask for a room with the lake view.|||The rooms overlook the majestic thousand island lake, against the picturesque backdrop of mountains. One can just sit for hours to admire this beautiful view.|||The 5-star hotel comes with a multiple food and beverage outlets. It also has a full scale gym, indoor and outdoor swimming pools with sauna and steam room in the changing rooms. It also houses a spa.|||We signed up to take the island hop tour at the tour desk within the hotel. The 4.5 hours tour covers two stops and 6 islands (first stop cover 5 small islands).|||Moonlight island||This consist of 5 small islands where each one offers a different experience. ||You can opt to pay 40 RMB for a row boat trip from Fishing Island to the next one. For those who prefer adventure, you can also opt to cross the island via Flying Fox style.|||Meifeng Island||This is the island that offers the best view of the islands of Qiandao Lakes. There is a cable car ride that cost 60 RMB for the journey up and down the hill. This is a massive property right on the lake with easy access to water activities and the town. We stayed in a large lake view suite on the 11th floor with great views of the water and sunset. The room was clean and had all amenities. The lounge itself is on the 17th floor looking over the lake. The lounge itself was average, but the view was great. The property has a nice indoor pool and what could be a great outdoor pool. However when we were there most of it was used for inflatable boat rental or empty. The area that was “open” was actually closed for large periods of the day for maintenance, which was a bummer. Breakfast was good each morning, with all the usual options. We had lunch in the western restaurant (poor) and the Cantonese one (fine). We took a look at the kids’ club, which seemed like a good option for younger children.
