Aoluguya Hotel — Hotel in Harbin

Terrible hotel way overpriced. NOT a five star hotel at all - this is a sleepy 3 star provincial hotel type. No one speaks English - not a check-in, or anywhere in the hotel. The room assigned at check-in was not the room booked, it was the category below. It took over one hour for the hotel to arrange the right room - and this took place past 10pm. |The room was non-smoking and so was the floor supposedly - but the ashtrays by the elevators were all full of cigarettes butts. The shower in the room had a big leak diffusing water horizontally. There was a smoke detector placed right at the exit of the shower cage - the very loud fire alarm was triggered by the steam each time we took a shower. |The faucet of the bathroom sink fell-off on day one. The TV is facing the desk but not the bed - in can only be watched seated at the desk. There are no foreign channels anyway - not one. Everything is in Chinese or in Russian. There is no coffee in the room. |Room service doesn't show up until you call them to come - after 4pm the room was still dirty. |The breakfast experience was the worst: absolutely crowded with strangers in need of a seat inviting themselves at our table. Staff is inattentive and doesn't help - there is only one coffee machine working at the breakfast room. |There is a bar at the hotel lobby but there is nothing to consume - it is basically a wooden desk with an intern manning it. |The elevators are really inconvenient - with a line from the ground floor to get to the high floor lobby, a change of elevators there, and another long wait to get a lift to the rooms from the other side of the lobby. |Wanna be fancy hotel that is just incredibly overpriced and incompetently managed. |Stay away - and go to the Ritz - for...

Best stay ever for me! Everything from the front desk to the housekeeping was great! I arrived quite early than the usual time but was given early in.. the benefits was explained clearly when checking in. Location wise is near a huge shopping mall, other than that its also near to tourist areas. You can even arrange for free pick up service to drive you to either central street or snow world and city. They also can arrange to have the driver to wait for you at the location you dropped off. There are 2 reindeer to greet you at selected timing. Even witness one of it shredding it's antlers! There are also free coke and Sprite and local drink in their mini bar. Unlimited free flow of night food from 10pm-12 midnight, legit nice beef noodle that I had 3 bowls. There are also free drinks and other local delicious food . For breakfast although I didn't get it, it's until 1pm lol, not a typo. Never heard before any hotel we have breakfast till 1pm. I was told this is because the owner know when we visit harbin we will stay up late, if it's the usual 10am you might miss your breakfast.same for those who need to get up early and still be able to come back to eatIf you book those 72 square meter room they even provide free car rental. Yes all free, just have to top up the fuel, with this benefits you would've save a lot of money. Special should out to driver wangxin(王新) he drove me to snow world and walked there, even beyond the selected timing because he knows that it will be hard to take taxi back to hotel at late timing. We had a wonderful stay at Aoluguya, we were treated exceptionally nice the staff was awesome, the F&B manager Frank was there to help and attend to our every needs, the breakfast was amazing we had some yummy baked beans done for us as an extra treat among the other plenty of dishes that were there on the buffet menu, the while two days were absolutely wonderful, our room was spacious and very comfortable for our daughter to run around and play, unfortunately for us our daughter wrote on the wall with a pen and we really felt bad about that incident, but thanks to the amazing efforts that were done by the night duty manager Brian who attended to the situation in a calm and diligent manner he had the issue resolved and made sure that we were still comfortable and well accommodated, the hotel stuff are very friendly warm and welcoming another special thanks also goes to Star at the front desk she was warm and very patient with us during our check in time, my family and I we will definitely come back again for another stay in the near future.
