This is a must visit when you visit harbin. I wont call this a theme park per say, more like a little town on it's own. I personally didn't want to visit the snow village because I've been to hokkaido for the snow.
The little town was magical and picturesque. The buildings were all very well done. It is actually a high quality replica of those russian buildings damaged during the cultural revolution. Walking on the frozen lake was a fun thing to do. And it was not slippery at all. We didnt have enough time to do the snow sliding thing which was included in the price because I was with my mom, which had difficulty walking so i didnt want to abandon her. But i think it was a real fun because apparently you would slide on a rubber tyre from a hill of 5 stories high. There is vodka tasting (included in the price) at the vodka chateau. Dont be fooled by the cold exterior of the chateau, on the inside it was so beautiful and they had a museum on the history of vodka. The vodka was served in ice glasses and tasted rather nice.
The Russian perfomance was okay, I guess. If you are pressed for time, just skip it. No big deal The park itself is much more worth exploring. Do spend a whole day here. We rented a taxi from Harbin city for the whole day for 400 yuen. There are a few restaurants here, one Chinese and one Russian. The prices are rather reasonable.
So many cute cats here. You can pet them as you wish. Cubby looking Garfields.
There is a few hotel located inside available for booking. Try Google for Volga Manor hotel. The walk in rate in 12/2018 was 798 standard room and 1600 for the grand suite. (If I...

Volga Manor is undeniably a beautiful place, with stunning architecture and picturesque landscapes that make it a great spot for photos. The variety of buildings offers plenty of opportunities for capturing memorable shots, which is a definite plus.
However, I couldn’t shake the feeling that this Russian town is more of a facade than a genuine representation of Russian culture. While the aesthetics are impressive, the overall experience felt somewhat artificial. It’s as if the charm of a real Russian town has been manufactured rather than authentically represented.
If you’re looking for a visually appealing location for photography, Volga Manor delivers. But if you’re seeking an authentic cultural experience, you might find it lacking. Overall, it’s a mixed bag—beautiful to look at, but not quite...
Read moreA rather large estate that has been designed to incorporate as much Russian style architecture as possible. I guess you can think of it as a Russian themed park of sorts, with the "western" restaurant serving Russian cuisine inspired fare, dance shows etc.
The hotel within the compound is mediocre at best. The rooms were alright in terms of comfort and amenities, but really nothing truly inspiring or memorable. As we visited during the winter season, the lake froze over, and being able to walk across and explore was nice. There were some winter related activities, but I would think that during the warmer months, there will probably be more to do.
Suitable for a short stay, and I enjoyed the change in scenery, but I would not recommend staying an extended duration during winter, since there really isn't that much to keep you...
