松赞林卡美憬阁酒店 — Hotel in Jiantang

One of the best hotels I have stayed at any where. The location of the hotel is one of its best attraction as it's situated directly behind the Songzanling Monastery (AKA: the little Potala Palace). This hotel actually looks better in person than in pictures. The quality of the rooms are amazing. I love the heavy wooden frames used throughout the buildings and the deep set windows with wide ledge to sit in, in all the rooms. Given the high altitude in the region, it's inadvisable to use air conditioning. So all the windows in the guest rooms can be open to allow fresh air in which is a very good thing given the large green fields outside. The hotel restaurant offers beautiful view of the monastery.
