Shangri-La Original Density Hotel — Hotel in Jiantang

Central location. Walking distance to shops. ||We had two connecting rooms. One with twin and one with king’s size bed. Well maintained and clean. A bit dark Would prefer more lights in washroom. ||Check in super smooth and efficient. Mr. Sun of front desk called earlier that day to confirm our booking and special request. Though we checked in late at night, Mr Sun took the time to explain patiently to my daughter the story of the hotel and the meaning behind the decor. ||Breakfast ok variety. Reception lady was hospitable. Seems not enough manpower. Plates not cleaned quickly enough. Lady in local costume went around to introduce local tea and food. ||There’s an ‘oxygen bar’, a room with a machine producing oxygen. We went there before sleep as i started to have headache. There were some rubbish from before. The rubbish was still there the next morning. I think they are really understaffed. ||Otherwise, very good experience. Hotel needs major renovation and lacks any grandiose often associated with the hotel brand. Very disappointing. And to think I purposely paid more for the Shangrila Shangrila experience. Sigh. Never again, so do not be fooled...
