It’s meant to be 5* but it lacks subtle nuances and sloppy training.||As an international traveller you expect a certain level of service from 5* international brand hotels but as I travel around China it is obvious that this has been lost in the training manual. ||On arrival I had to get my own suitcases from my taxi. Reception didn’t greet and weren’t ready for new guests. We’d booked the Discovery Suite which is a fair old hike of 385 steps from reception. There was no bell boy, no trolly, we were on our own to drag our suitcases to our room and were kind of pointed in the vicinity of…this is one of their top suites. You kind of expect a bit of service!||The suite is beautifully decorated with a nice seating area, luxurious bed, bathroom with beautifully scented toiletries and it’s comfortable. Sadly the curtains weren’t electric, there were no international tv stations (blamed on a Government ban). The mini bar was only two Pepsis, odd energy drink and something I didn’t recognize. There wasn’t a drop of alcohol nor ice, and nor any milk to add to your tea or coffee in the espresso maker. I appreciate the Chinese don’t have milk with their tea but my name was surely enough a clue to tell them I wasn’t Chinese?||We went for a meal in the restaurant. It was Western food night. The Mushroom soup was good but lacked seasoning, the club sandwich was tragic lacking everything but especially flavour, the pizza was ghastly made from a preformed base which wasn’t pizza dough, ham and processed cheese which congealed. The accompanying salad had unloved lettuce, no tomatoes or cucumber but did include a slice of mango the odd kernel of sweetcorn and was it spinach? The dressing was from a bottled - Salad dressing is simple - mustard, garlic, sugar, white wine vinegar and olive oil…but it’s obviously too much to expect in this 5* hotel. There was no sign of a wine list. My Coke was served in a coffee mug!||Breakfast was an obligatory bun fight. Food was mediocre at best and the International foods hidden at the very back and lacked any level of creativity. ||Basic training was the trouble here. Our room carpet wasn’t cleaned and toiletries used weren’t all replaced.||The concierge was poor. The waitresses have zero understanding of fine dining service. The rooms lack the subtle nuisances of a top flight hotel but the views are great and the location tip top to visit...
Read moreService:First of all, we arrived at Emeishan Station at 9 a.m. and had booked the pick-up service in advance. The hotel butler came to pick us up in a business vehicle. Although the hotel is just a few minutes’ drive away, this thoughtful service greatly enhanced the overall experience.Le Méridien Emeishan is positioned as a resort hotel with over 300 rooms. Since we arrived quite early, we initially thought we’d have to wait until the afternoon to check in. However, the hotel had available rooms and kindly allowed us to check in right away. The butler even gave us two cups of coffee and drove us around in a sightseeing cart to show us different room types. Although we had only booked a standard room, they upgraded us to a lake-view room with beautiful scenery. We really appreciate the hotel’s excellent service!Additionally, the butler gave us 10 bottles of water upon check-in, which was more than enough—no need to call for more during our stay.Facilities:The hotel grounds are quite large, and the buildings are low-rise. Guests staying in Building 2 may need to walk about six to seven minutes to their rooms. The hotel offers a lobby bar, reading lounge, gym, hot spring pool, swimming pool, and kids’ play area. The facilities are generally comprehensive, though the entertainment options may feel a bit limited for a resort hotel. The children’s play area includes simple slides, swings, and a small ball pit—fairly modest in scale.Location:About 2 km from Baoguo Temple and close to the shuttle bus station for Emei Mountain. Very convenient.Breakfast:Abundant and delicious, with the option to dine outdoors in a beautiful setting.Environment:The hotel is located next to Exiu Lake, surrounded by a scenic park with views of the Golden Summit (Jinding). The environment inside the hotel is also pleasant—perfect for a relaxing weekend getaway.Overall:The highlight of this hotel is its outstanding service, which is undoubtedly the most important aspect for a resort. It would be even better if the facilities were...
Read moreVery impressive hotel in Emei city, Sichuan, China. The hotel is just less than 1.5km from High speed train station - Mountain Emei, the concierge picked me up in early morning, it took less than 5mins to the hotel. ||||I was having breakfast, the restaurant manager knew that I came in earlier and he was very kindness to arrange early check in for me, even they were full house on the night before, very sweet of them. ||||The room was spacious, faced to the Mountain View, but I was not able to locate the exhaust fan in the bathroom, kinda no ventilation in there. If you are staying tower 2, you have to walk a bit far.||||After day trip to Mountain Emei, I tried their room services, the Emei burger is must eat item (took around 20mins) the Chao mian was too oily, Nasi Goreng was too dry. ||||I liked the first impression when I got into the hotel, the staff explained that’s call - 開門見山, very meaningful and special. Also can tell they have spent quite a lot of time on their landscape, very comfortable area to chill.||||I can tell the hotel was extremely busy during my stay, but the staff at concierge and lobby were very helpful, keep it up and definitely will...
