So I don’t like writing negative reviews but I feel I’ve got to here. I was really excited and looking forward to our stay at the Pullman, as I’ve stayed at Pullman resorts all around the world, and this is bottom of the heap! The one thing I was looking forward to was an indoor heated pool to swim in after being out all day. It’s called Pullman resort and spa… yet there is only an outdoor pool (and it’s currently 7 degrees) unless you book a private villa. We get to our room and to be honest it felt pretty dated compared to other Pullman’s I’ve stayed in. It feels like the Pullman that Pullman forgot about. The safe didn’t work and locked my passports in it and I had to get hotel staff to come get them out. It is FAR from soundproof, to the point my partner heard the neighbour fart through the walls, and we got woken up multiple times at some crappy hour by someone’s door banging shut. ||Next thing which was not so great, was the almost complete lack of English (only one staff member spoke English) and I don’t mean that to sound privileged or bratty as we were obviously in China, but it was beyond a joke. I’ve travelled multiple times around the world, and always the hotel staff has spoken English. Checkin could only be done via google translate! Next up, I tried to order a cake and an electric car turned up 😂. The reception staff were lovely and tried their best but if you were someone who didn’t use a mobile phone, have access to google translate, or were from the older generation, you’d be absolutely stuffed. If we’d have booked an obscure Chinese hotel I’d be expecting that but we chose an international brand hotel to try make thing a a bit easier, to which we just found it easier to organise tours and activities ourselves rather than asking hotel staff for help (even though that is offered).||Finally, wifi is no good at all. Requires a Chinese phone number or WeChat but when selecting WeChat error codes were displayed despite WeChat being successfully installed and working on the device, so again we just had to test her our mobiles. ||The positives: it is close to Shuhe old town and is clean but that’s about it. ||Soooo, hate to say but all in all I wouldn’t stay here again and definitely...
Read moreThis hotel takes the cake for the 1 star rating. Misleading room information, dirty place and totally 0 recognition for accor members||Location - located 20mins away from the more popular Lijiang ancient town. I chose to stay here as I wanted the view of the famed Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. However was informed upon check in that there is no such view for twin bed rooms and there are only 8 rooms in total for that in which some have also been obstructed by growing trees. It has been 2 weeks since my stay and complaint and the room is still being advertised as so.||Accor recognition - none, no welcome drinks, no upgrade as next level is villa. Had to chase for loyalty nights a few times too.||Room - Dated and dirty. This hotel is in need of a renovation and am unsure how it is charging such premium pricing. Also found out that the bathtub had sand sediments while using it and did a blue light check after. It was totally not cleaned.|Breakfast - Starts at 6.30am but maybe only half is ready. By 7.30am when we left, it was still not fully ready.||Did a complain early next morning and when i returned that at night, nothing was done except a fruit platter as apology. The bathtub was still uncleaned as I can visibly see it. Texted them via wechat and they insisted that it was cleaned already. Took a photo and they send the housekeeping head over who agreed that it was uncleaned.||The GM came over and offered us insincere compensations like upgrading us the next time we stay(really??) or transfer to the train station which only cost a few dollars and we rejected them.||For the scam, non existent cleaning services and 0 service recovery, I would recommend people to reconsider staying. You can stay at the ancient city with better cleanliness, service and newer property for less than half the price.||Did a complaint via Accor and didn't get a...
Read moreStayed in Pullman Dali and was happy with my choice. Hence having high expectations of Pullman Lijiang. Alas! Was greatly disappointed. Other than the beautiful surroundings and the view of snowy z, Yulong Xue Shan. Nothing is there to look forward to in this property.||Check in was NOT a breeze. I would not go into details. But the staffs are not trained for a five star hotel. On check out day, 5.30am, one of the lady staff at the reception had azzwmessy hair. I then come to the conclusion that it is the management of Pullman Lijiang who is lacking. ||This is an old property. But old property can be charming too. But no, room is tired. Furniture old n not well maintained. The only blessing is that I paid for a deluxe room with view of the snowy mountains. My friends who couldn’t upgrade had a room facing the courtyard. So do yourselves a favour, if you disregard this review and still wish to stay here, get an upgrade. Or stay in their overpriced two bedrooms villa. ||Breakfast is simple. Lipton teabag was provided in a Pullman property. Was there any fresh juice? DoubleTree by Hilton, also in Lijiang, done a much much better job. Packed breakfast was two or three slices of plain bread, an apple and a yogurt. Well done Pullman Lijiang! ||If I have to find some good things to say about the hotel, then it will be the beautiful hotel grounds and surrounding. Maybe, just maybe, their focus is on guests staying in the villa. ||And yes, don’t be fooled by the location being near to the Ancient Town too. The most popular Ancient Town is far away from here. Shui He Ancient Town nearby was very quiet in...
