Holiday Inn Nanjing South Station — Hotel in Nanjing City

The room was spacious and well-maintained. I appreciated the cleanliness and tidiness of the facilities.

The food at the hotel's restaurant was delicious and offered a variety of options. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast spread.

The hotel staff were courteous and attentive throughout my stay. They were quick to respond to any requests or inquiries I had.

The hotel's location was a major plus point. It was conveniently situated within walking distance to a mall, train station, and local restaurants, making it easy to explore the area.

One drawback was the inconsistency in the children's policy. I encountered an issue where they tried to charge for breakfast for kids, which should have been free according to the Holiday Inn's policy. After showing the policy of Holiday Inn on website, they waived charge for kid's breakfast. This was a bit disappointing and should be addressed for a smoother experience.

All over my staying was very good. Walking distance to Nanjing South station. Small but well equipped gym and nice pool. Rooms are clean and staff is super friendly.

The only thing what should improve is the stock level of free drinks (read beer).

When staying in the hotel everyone gets a coupon for a welcome drink. I arrived late and kept it for the second night. Looking forward for a beer, I was told that the Qingdao Gold was out of stock and this was the only beer they could serve on this coupon. By the way, several beers on the menu with same price, though these couldn't be offered as an alternative.

My complains were handled in a super good manner the next day, though it would have been nicer when I just had this one beer.

Still I will recommend this hotel to any other guest, I believe they won't make this...

Pros:

Excellent location next to restaurants and short walk from Nanjing South Station.

Got upgraded to a very nice and big room for my Diamond status.

Cons:

Hotel WiFi is slow, the firewall is blocking most of the international websites, making everything slow, even their own IHG website is slow to load.

Breakfast food is only average.

No executive club lounge, given food voucher instead but the food quality is average.

Housekeeping changed my towel even when it's hanging up. They are supposed to change only the towels in the bathtub or on the floor.

Gym is average, not very big and swimming pool was crowded...
