This hotel is located within walking distance (about 12-15 minutes) from a multi-story Walmart store located on Chaoyang Rd. That Walmart has numerous items that you would never see in the USA. When I went there, they even had a team of "Walmart Cheerleaders" who would go to the different departments and on different floors to sing like a choreography group, singing "We Like Walmart....." and the team would bring you something very motivational with respect to making your day go very well. Never before did I ever see a multi-level Walmart store! There were so many unique things to see, one would have to go there on several consecutive days just to see everything that the store had. On the first floor, there as a huge deli that had at least twenty lines of people waiting to get fried chicken. Each line had at least 25-30 people waiting to get to the head of the line but the service was so fast, a typical wait in those lines was only about five minutes! To get to the Walmart store, you can take a taxi (2 minutes) or go out the front door of the hotel and turn right and walk along Mingquan Rd. until you get to the next big intersection. Walmart is across the roadway on Chaoyang Rd. (Bing...
Read moreI highly recommend this hotel. I was skeptical, reading the reviews, but was very happy once we moved here. We liked it so much that we stayed here two separate times on our trip in April. We loved our river view room on the non-smoking 6th floor, which thanks to the tremendously helpful manager, Steven, we were able to have on both of our stays. We moved here as an upgrade after staying 2 nights at a dingy hotel near the university, which a family member who studies at the university had recommended. We were so delighted to leave the worn and moldy room behind and to check into a room that was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Loved the bed. It was like a dream. Bathroom was also very nice. We were tired from a lot of fast paced travel, and this was a perfect place to rest and recharge. It is a very short walk to the metro system, which made it so convenient fo exploring Nanning. The entire staff was extremely kind friendly and helpful, offering good tips on travel and on nearby restaurants. Excellent, extensive breakfast buffet. A lot of nice touches, like tea available in the lobby, which we enjoyed.|Next year when we come to Nanning, we will come...
Read moreWe stayed at Yong Jiang Hotel a little over 2 weeks for my wife to visit relatives & friends. The hotel seems to have a lot of business and meeting groups, not many tourists except from China. Our room was a Business Executive room, excellent size with king bed, 2 sofas, TV, 2 showers, fridge, 4 waters per day. Housekeeping was excellent. My wife speaks chinese, otherwise it would be very difficult for a foreigner to stay here and communicate with the staff. Our room had a good view of the Yong Jiang river and the many bikes crossing the bridge each day. The breakfast was excellent with a wide range of choices, only negative would be that it was pretty much the same each day. Also, with many groups there, it was very crowded between 7:30 - 9AM, avoid those times. We were there in April and it was 90 degrees and the pool was closed, very disappointing. The location of the hotel is next to a busy street so not much in the way of restaurants unless you want noodles all the time. The hotel restaurant is expensive. For these reasons, only 3 stars, probably good for local residents who speak...
