This lovely hotel strives for outstanding guest service… And they really achieve it! From the greeting upon entrance, to the “orientation “in your room, to all of the nice little extra touches, the SeaView Garden Hotel is the perfect retreat for a relaxing getaway. I switched to this hotel from a “famous name brand” that was more expensive and provided horrible service and wish I had skipped that one and stayed longer at SeaView. |Just a couple examples of their added touches... All hotels are now requiring swim caps to go in the pool - the first hotel sold me an exorbitantly overpriced piece of crap. SeaView, not realizing I had one, offered me one for no charge. There are water bottles in the gym, at the pool and plenty in your room. The room was large, spacious, and had a tub and big shower. There were lots of amenities including bath salts, free drinks in the fridge, and a fruit plate, besides all the usuals. When I returned to my room in the evening, they had left a plate with snacks and little “gifts.” Every place I went, and each time I came or went, I was warmly greeted - always in English. There was a tiny issue with the room (the tub was dirty upon arrival - they were mortified!) and at least 3 people stopped me to apologize. |I usually prefer staying in hotels that are a little more centrally located so I can walk around town, but if I return to Qingdao, I would probably sacrifice that and just not leave the premises (or, of course, take a taxi/Didi) - enjoy the restaurants and bars/lounges on property. |One caveat ... this is not a modern hotel. They definitely go more for grandeur - perhaps a bit too much - and things are a bit overdone and old-fashioned for my taste, but as I’ve mentioned, the level of caring and attention to detail really outweighs...

Read moreThis is a mixed review for me. On one hand, we paid for a Seaview that had a building blocking 80% of our view. When we asked to change rooms, they gave us a run around and told us to deal with it. We contacted ctrip, and quickly got a room with a better view. From that point they were pretty kind and courteous. Afterwards, we went to the Hawaiian BBQ restaurant that is affiliated with the hotel. We could only stay there an hour as they were closing. My girlfriend and I had one beer apiece, along with two plates of cold kebabs as they didn’t want to heat anything else. We would have eaten more, but there was no food. When the bill came, it was 572. That was surprising to say the least. Throughout the days to come, we realize that all of the restaurants were quite expensive. So when we looked at their room service selection, we were happy as it appeared to be less expensive. Each meal, we bought no more than 300 worth. And we only ate four times while we were there. The bill came out to 4300. I don’t know where their additional expenses came from. The hotel offered quite a few amenities, but we were busy exploring the city. Please not they have very slow room service. However, besides our initial interaction, all of the staff were kind and warm, It is therefore that I say that it was a mixed review. And I hope that this helps someone when...
