Aile Holiday Hotel — Hotel in Quanzhou

My first visit to this city and this hotel.....I was booked into it by one of my suppliers. It has lots of potential, and was probably, once , a very nice hotel, but the last few years have not been kind to it. The public areas are OK and the breakfast was also OK (Just!). However, the rooms need a good makeover, or maybe just a good clean.......the carpets and fabric coverings of the headboard were filthy! The bathroom was very nice and modern and such a contrast to the room. Perhaps the hotel was refurbished a few years ago, but the upkeep has just not been up to scratch! Or perhaps the hotel is catering to a different type of traveller.....there were 4 varieties of condoms amongst the bathroom supplies....next to the soap, shampoo and toothbrushes, etc.!! I might be back to Jinjiang, but not to this hotel, unless subsequent reports indicate that a major cleanup has occurred. I understand that the Maro Polo is the best and most westernized Hotel in town. There is a huge new Hotel being built at the moment.....not sure if one of the major hotel chains has anything to do with it.....keep an eye out for this. The best thing is that it is located in a area with a lot of shops and restaurants. Transportation is easy. 5 min by car to the airport|2. Room is so so. There is a ktv in hotel yard. Right in the midnight drunk people comes out with loud noises and some with shouting or crying and really I couldn't sleep well|3. This hotel is very well located for business. Excellent price, good food to suit different tastes, vegetarian or fish diet. Courteious staff, a lot of them speak English and always remember you some even after 4 years! Very clean and close to Macdonalds, Kentuckys and Pizza Hut/land.
