Read moreCleaninglessThe hotel room initially toilet was not cleaned properly but subsequently house cleaning is great. They provide lots of complimentary drinks too. ServiceThey assigned a butler Arif who is friendly devoted to his job and will message you daily whether require to do booking and offer discount. He gave me 4 pink dolphin as a gift despite not using his service, it will be great if he do check whether my kids is boy or girl. Both my boys don’t like it so we returned 2 dolphin with tips to him. Remember to do a positive feedback and screenshot to him immediately after your stay or he will keep pester you to do it right now. He is very hardworking. Concierge not willing to go extra mile to send us to railway station despite nearer than airport. For a 5-7 star hotel, the service is below par compared to the 3 star hotel stayed previously and the 5 star hotel after it. Service is very important and they left me uncomfortable and disappointment. I place it 2 star instead of 1 is that at least they did a birthday cake for my friend upon requesting earlier. LocationThe location is horrible to me as the dutyfree shopping mall nearby does not permit me to do any purchase as my outward bound flight is at Meilan instead of Phoenix airport which my country does not fly to. It worsen the shopping experience and the food nearby is a sky high rate. Waterpark The only plus point i would rate it great is for the aquaventure water park which is fun and included in the package. The staff is friendly and guide things well to ensure all is safe and secure. The aquarium is very small but still considered good, given its included in packageBreakfastI dined twice in Saffron and it was horrible. Food is very oily, carbo food, place is big, messy and many duplication station. They stuffing hotel guess with carbo and food that is oily. There is no changes in food when i dine the 2nd time. Its worst than 3 star hotel. All 8 of us dislike the food, 2nd time i left in 10mins seeing still no changes. My boy only have 1 slice of bread. Had to spend money to dine elsewhere. Check out immediately early that day as there is no other place to dine early morning. I dined once in kaleidoscope which i find at least match standard of 4-5 star hotel. The food is much better, there is no duplication and at least have some protein food. Place is big but much more organised. So if you booked the hotel, i recommend you to dine here instead of Saffron. Overall i recommend the aquaventure park and low season stay as price is still acceptable. Not recommended for high season pricing as there is many better options. The rating is based on 5 star hotel...
Read moreWe had high expectations for this hotel seeing its reputation and expensive rooms. But already on arrival we were disappointed. The lobby was packed with people and the lines for check in very long. Before getting in one of the queues, we desperately tried to find a seat for our old father who was with us. There was none, and we had to ask if he could sit and wait in the car exhibition area that was in the lobby. Luckily they agreed. Once our father was comfortable, we proceeded to waiting in the queue. We waited long time before it was finally our turn. We called our father to come over, and just as we were to start the check in, a staff member came over and invited us to do the check in, in the VIP lounge. We have no clue why, but it was totally useless as we just arrived at the counter anyway. At the end of the check in (which was long since they have to through your identity thoroughly and take your photo which I really don't like for privacy reasons), our room wasn't ready yet. So instead of dragging our father back out in the packed lobby, we went to sit with him at the back of the VIP lounge. Then we got our next surprise! A staff member came up to us and asked us to leave! We didn't as we hadn't even asked to be in the VIP lounge in the first place and because there wasn't a single free seat in the lobby for our father. The room was big and clean and had a beautiful view of the sea. Absolutely no complaints about the room. We also visited the aquarium inside the hotel, which was quite impressive. But be aware. Once they've taken your picture at the reception, you enter everywhere with face recognition cameras. Upon entering this hotel you give them your complete identity. We also visited the water park which was another bad experience. It was full of people as it's open not only for hotel guests but for the general public. The shortest queue was 40min long. We ended up leaving and went by the pool instead. This was the best part of the hotel. The pool was relatively quiet and you can have something to eat and drink there. The beach was also great and very little people. But it wasn't a good time to swim. We also went to see the mermaid show but it wasn't that great compared to other similar shows we've seen in China. All in all we wouldn't go back to this hotel. It claims to be a 7 star hotel but I've been to far, far better (and cheaper) 5 star hotels. Also if you care about animals welfare, you shouldn't go here either. They are exploited and mistreated for gaining even more money...
