Travel type: family. 2 adults & 3 kids, 14, 11 and 6 years old||Room type: ocean view 2 bedrooms suit (173m2), access to club hyatt||Travel length: 10 nights ||Season: Christmas 2024||||Room: ||Well-mainteined 5-star resort infrustructure. We enjoyed our room very much regardless of a few outdated details. We brough apple TV and HDMI cable, so we could stream as there is no smart TV casting function. Our 2-bedroom suit is located on 12th floor of the main building with decent seaview. We love the layout and space with 3 oversized bathtubes and balconied. Each room has seperate entrance door but connected inside. So we got designated room keys for each room. Room is always spotless clean and there is never too much to ask the house keeping staff. We are greatful that Fu Xiuli took good care of us, and made the room our home. Laundry service was speedy and satisfactory.||||Recreation: ||Camp Hyatt: lots of free daily activities to choose from for both kids and teens/adults. We also tried go-cart, parade train and palm tree-climbing with additional charges. Go-cart was my kids' favourite. All the staff at Camp Hyatt are energetic and attentive. My would like to thank Simple, Colin and Coco. Especially Simple, he is interactive, always has a big smile on his face, and goes all in for any activity he is part of, water gun battle, floating carpet, balance challenge, etc. ||||Pool: there are two heated pools, one is very shallow and perfect for small kids. We mainly used family pool which was warmer. Staff by the pool were helpful, and efficient at providing towels and cleaning up sunbeds. We would like to specifically mention pool guard Wu Wenquan who noticed my youngest boy run constantly between the pool and sunbed to get towel to wipe off water on his face. Wu quietly placed a towel by the pool side, so my son could skip runing back and force. It is a small gesture but it shows his eye to details and care to customers.||||Entertaiment: there were shows every day. Magic and fire shows were impressive. We also like the performance by Cuban singers at lobby bar and club. My daughter has requested some special songs off the list. and they did a great job.||||F&B:||Staff at Club Hyatt were much more service-minded than the Grand Cáfe. After the christmas eve dinner at the Grand Cáfe, we decided to spend most of our time at club for a more pleasant experience. There is no doubt about food quality and variety at Grand Cáfe, but there are rooms for improvement, especially the chaotic breakfast seating rutines. We had relaxing and enjoyable time at the club, thanks to Vivian, Amy, Zoey and Louise. In addition, long-staying guests might appreciate some variety of the food served at the club.||||Last but not the least, the star of our stay at Hyatt goes absolutely to Leslie Peng, whom I happened to get in touch with while making the reservation. She provided me with suggestions while booking, arranging airport transfer, and being there for any questions before and during our stay, which is the opposite to the poor reception during checkin after travelling for 24+ hours. I think Leslie normally works with marketing in the back office, but she made her way to greet us in our room, and also wish us a nice journey home before departure at the club. What impressed me most is that she does not only care about customer, she also showed care for her colleagues. When I inquired about their popular butler service, she mentioned her colleagues at customer service had a lot to do during the high season. For offloading her colleagues, she went beyond her daily duty and offered that I could contact her if there is anything. She even answered my questions once during her day off, which I am terribly sorry for not knowing it. Her customer-centric service and geniune care for people make her a great asset for the hotel, and reason for guests to return. ||||5/5 review is only given to the above-menioned staff who made our stay and really stand out from the rest of...
Read moreGrand Hyatt Sanya Haitang BaySome few keys I’d like to pinpoint during my stay in this resort. We were staying for 5 nights, from June 1st to 8th. CLEANLINESS I’m very surprised with the cleanliness in the room and surrounding areas. Walking through the lobby, garden areas, pool areas and of course the room. You’ll be able to see gardeners, housekeepers, and cleaners doing everything to clean the their areas. This resort is spotless. Five stars for that.LOCATION Location is quite far from downtown but enough to go shopping around 68 market/mall. The hotel is connected to the mall where you can find and dine local restaurants. It is good when you’re trying to avoid the pricy meal at the resort. (Go local, get cheaper)And yes, location from the airport is about 35-45 minutes away. No traffic on the way. But try to avoid some local drivers who’s trying to give you a cheaper price to send you to the hotel. Always check the price on Didi or other app. When using those apps there will be no compromise.SERVICEService. Well, overall it was great! Starting from reception, we were greeted during the arrival with the help of our luggage and stuff and guided us through the lobby. The receptionist attended us during check-in was very attentive and helpful (I didn’t get a chance to check her name). She was very helpful, and even gave us a tour through the map and sent us to the lift to our room. The young man and young lady at the housekeeping dept. was always ready to help us with what we needed in the room and prepared a honeymoon decoration in the room on the first day with complementary champagne and a fruit basket (Downside: some are telling to give them five stars) but I totally understand as it helps them as well.Restaurant staff are relatively friendly and helpful. Very welcoming when you coming for breakfast and guide us to our seats. BUT, you’ll need to come earlier than 9. Otherwise, you’ll be lining up outside the restaurant waiting for the vacant seat.AMENITIES Amenities are well cleaned and new. Showers and tub are quite new and well maintained. Other things in the resort are basically great.Swimming at the beach is on your own risk. No lifeguard assigned to watch as it is a public beach. Basically it’s not allowed to go swimming. Haitang bay resorts are all the same. If you’re looking for a resort where you can swim, you need to find somewhere else such as Yalong bay or Wuzhizhou Island.Overall stay was great. Just bear in mind, if you’re looking for a hotel or resort for fun this resort is not for you. But if you’re looking for a relaxation and calm holiday this resort is for you. There are only few entertainment and experience you can have in the resort such as live music during barbecue dinner at the Grand Cafe, dinner in the sky, and show outside...
