The hotel was spacious, you can fit 2 large luggages in the room and still have ample space to walk ard. If only they had one more extra chair so my husband and I can sit comfortably. I find the bed comfortable enough, I like the automatic toilet bowl, the pressure for the water was just right. The helpers, service staff was very helpful and polite throughout our stay. They provided us with lots of water to make sure we are hydrated as the weather outside is really hot. The cleaner’s name is LIN or LING 阿姨, she was the one that took care of us throughout our 5 days. The room service food was way better than the one in JW Marriott for some reason. Please order the Xiao Long Bao and bolognese pasta. You can skip the pizza entirely, it’s bad. We ordered a bucket of ice, and there was a young boy who delivered our ice in the middle of the night with a huge smile, he said, “Hi”👋🏼with a hig happy smile and then a “BYE~”when he’s all done. He was so enthusiastic and it made our night. At the lobby, it’s pretty small, some taxis can’t find the entrance to the lobby, take a pic if you order a didi, so the driver may know what to look out for. The doorman was really nice, he helped us with our luggage’s in seconds, 谢谢你 Liu Xiao Xiu. I highly recommend the stay here as all the staffs seems like they have gone through a 5 star training program. It’s one of the most pleasant stay. I hope this review will not lead to a price increase on trip.com. Chang Shou lu has lots of hipster cafe and interesting restaurants ard the hood, so do you research and explore the...
Read moreGreat service, location and room - I had a Premier King Room. It was clean, tidy and gorgeous. I also had executive club access - I'd recommend this to anybody. I was quite concerned with eating in China, as I'm quite picky, though I felt relieved when I saw the catering options offered to those with club access. They had a variety of foods suitable for me (I don't eat pork).
The breakfast was great - with omelettes/scrambled eggs available on demand, with some options available to you (such as tomatoes, onions, ham, etc.). The chefs were also happy to adhere to my requests, such as cleaning the cooking equipment before preparing my omelettes (as I didn't want me eggs to be contaminated with pork), which I really appreciated.
I'd stay here again for sure. The location was nice around a 5 min walk from a train station, as well as a lot of local food restaurants nearby. The location also isn't too busy, it feels more residential, which I liked a lot more compared to my previous hotel where I stayed last year in Shanghai.
The gym is also fairly well equipped, though there's only one bench - it wasn't really used when I was there so it was never an issue to do workouts. The equipment is good for general exercises, highlighted by an abundance of cardio machines as well as a rack for squats/military...
Read moreLocation was not bad and there’s supper spots and a nearby family mart.Hotel kept giving us two towels despite having 3 of us booked in the booking. It was a pain having to call every night to request for an extra towel.Housekeeping was not consistent, some days no top up of moisturiser, another day the toilet metal bar drainage was left in the shower area which was so dangerous. Another day we had our pajamas left squashed up and thrown on top of our shopping bags on the floor.During check in, we asked the hotel staff at the counter whether she knows if one of the shop we wanted to go was nearby. She took a look at it and simply say she is not from Shanghai too and she doesn’t know - no willingness to check for us or even guide us to someone else. Quite shocking. One of the other staff at night on duty was nice and helped us to carry our shopping bags to the lift seeing we had many bags to hold and having a carry a sleeping child. Oh yes the hotel room was really hot despite us telling them to make it colder twice. During night time, there’s some weird popping/exploding sound coming from behind the curtains which can shock you awake. Feedback but nothing was done as well so we just tolerated it...
