Stayed at this hotel last week for 6 days while attending the CPHI in Shanghai.||||This was my second stay at this hotel and I must say I was let down on various aspects during my this stay. To be fair to the hotel I will point out the positives and the negatives both.||||Positives :||The rooms are quite large.||2 bottles of bottled water provided daily free of cost.||The walls are quite thick and you don't hear any noises from adjoining rooms.||Bathrooms quite big. Infact as large as the bedroom with separate bath tub and a shower area.||The Breakfast is quite good and the restaurant has good quality food for reasonable price. ||||Negatives :||The corridors and the rooms have this constant mold smell. As soon as you climb any floors the smell is too strong and stays till inside the rooms.||The beds are not comfortable at all. They are too hard and not straight. The one in my room had a bend at the centre and I remember the same from my previous stay in this hotel.||Although the rooms look clean (with the little amount of illumination available), if you observe closely there is a lot of dust everywhere. Traces of shoddy repairs, holes in the curtains, holes in the towels all point to a very poor state of upkeep of the hotel.||The wifi is not very strong and surfing hassle free is not possible.||On one day the milk at the coffee station was curdled and nobody seemed to be bothered.||The lighting is very low. Despite putting on all the lights in the room, you feel like you have just put on a few candles in the rooms.||The hotel is on a highway. Hence to go anywhere you need to call for a taxi at the reception. ||||BIGGEST NEGATIVE :||The staff don't speak any English or any other foreign language. For communicating anything you have to use translator. With Google banned in China, I would recommend you to install the translator app to be able to use the translation tool to communicate with the hotel. ||||In all, not a very comfortable stay as getting anything done was an effort at this hotel.||||I don't think I would be staying at this hotel for my next trip. For the same price there are now multiple options available in...
Read moreThe hotel's location would be ideal if one is attending an event at the nearby Exhibition Center. The hotel offers a shuttle bus/van for the 10-minute ride to the convention center. One can take a quick and cheap taxi ride back to the hotel taxis are aplenty outside the convention center.||That being said, there is nothing else to speak of as far as location is concerned. There is a freeway in front of the hotel and I think it' a residential/industrial area at the back. Not even a convenience store around. Do all your convenience shopping at the Carrefour beside the convention center.||||Probably the largest standard room I have ever stayed in. There is a small foyer, a separate working area (area, not desk), a living room with 3-piece European-style sofa, and even an adjoining room with a set of garden chairs (probably for smokers). There is 4-poster bed at the center of the room.||The bigger surprise is that the bathroom is almost as large as the bedroom. There is a separate section that serves as a dressing room with closets, a stand-alone bathtub, a shower capsule, a toilet cubicle and twin basins.||The lighting was not sufficient since there were not enough lamps for such a large area (the bathroom had red lightning!). Internet access was fast and reliable. The TV did not have any English channels.||||The lobby was simple, small and dark. The breakfast buffet was typical for mid-range China hotels and was forgettable. But the coffee machine served a...
Read moreStayed here for 2 nights in mid March. The room itself is ok and two free bottles of water are provided. Room is spacious and the internal layout is acceptable. However the electronic controls are separated into several control boards with different functions. It is difficult to locate the control boards when the room light is turned off and the control board functions actually not arranged very logically. At least a bedside lamp with manual control or gesture control will help. ||||The hotel restaurant at the ground floor is seldom visited except during the breakfast time. I visited the restaurant for lunch and dinner a few times and I was the only 1 customer in the restaurant. The buffet breakfast is disappointing with very limited choices either for Chinese or western food. ||||The greatest drawback is the location of the hotel. It is in the middle of nowhere. No taxi stand, practically no public transport and every time I went out, I had to asked the front desk staff to call a taxi and then waited for 20 or 30 minutes. OK if one is a local who could call a lift by Didi (Uber in China). I tried to check if I could walk to the metro station but the nearest station was some 20 minutes by foot if one knew the direction. It is super...
