Crowne Plaza Shanghai Pudong — Hotel in Shanghai

I finally gave in to getting a massage in the hotel & I was very disappointed! The hotel rooms & bathrooms are very clean yet the SPA is the opposite. First of all, the SPA is very noisy, no calming music & therefore you can hear all the conversations from the employees who don't care to lower their voices in a SPA!!! On top of that, the aircon loud rattling sound was a nuisance for the entire massage session. The massage room I was taken to was directly opposite the kitchen, the room looked like a child's play room- the walls had so much on them & the space was very cluttered. When I had to lay face down for my back massage to start, the bed had an extremely foul smell- stale sweat. I had to ask for a "clean" towel to place on the bed because the smell was making me gag. The food in the hotel is not impressive either. It's always oily & even a grilled salmon with veggies & french fries tastes nothing like what the same meal tastes anywhere else. It was very oily & the salmon appeared to have been deep fried & the seasonings were just added at the end :-( Both meals I ordered including a chinese dish, I couldn't bare the taste & the oiliness & placed the trays outside the room because the smell was also...

Had a bad experience here. First night request to call a taxi out from 8-9km, and the service counter man said this to me, this is very far! Ok, fine, so he asking another guy to call the taxi for me. Yesterday night I have order some tea snack around 5.30pm to request send to the room, so when i was waiting for payment at the counter there, the lady who incharge to do the order wasnt felt so happy and keep nagging there when i was sitting nearby her, initially was a guy to help me make the order, but i think he is busy on something. Then this morning, after i check out and would like to request the receipt for what i had order yesterday, the attitude of the lady who help me to print the receipt totally make me feel uncomfortable, pass me don’t know what kind of paper and said, i only found this, if you want then take this. im like what?! I felt so disappointed on this service. However, she did it half way and ask for the guy colleague to help on it. I get the receipt but I hope the management team can look into this services attitude seriously. Definitely a bad experience for me. Will not visit this...

Well deserved five stars, first of all, hotel staff rocks!!!! They are impressively helpful, polite, professional, and even though the english is not always as good as we can understand each other but the effort they put to make sure your needs and comfort are guaranteed is unbelievable, also they came to drop my laundry and found a do not disturb light in, they didn't hang my shirt in the door and leave it, they just left me a clear note under my door! Prices in the hotel for food and beverages are absolutely reasonable, especially shanghai is an expensive city, the hotel and rooms itself are something beyond luxury and worth the price, locatin also is really convenient ... It's definitely one of my best places to stay all...
