Crystal Orange Hotel Shanghai Caohejing Yishan Road — Hotel in Shanghai

This hotel has potential but seems hampered at every stage by the shocking level of poor customer service. ||||When I arrived the receptionist insisted on photocopying a visa from Kuwait, hat was 4 years out of date. She completely missed all of my Chinese visas, in spite of me showing them to her. This could have caused problems. Having then messed up my booking she added further insult to leave my booking half complete in order to deal with somebody else.||||The room was nice, though the water for the bath tub always seemed cold. Room service was poor. I had to constantly asked for my room to be cleaned. ||||The breakfast was terrible, the food was cold and largely inedible. I waited some time for a fried egg to arrive, when it did it was so cold it could have come from the refrigerator. I ask for a warm one. She took it away and microwaved it. The egg was solid and could bot be eaten. ||||Everything seemed too much trouble for the staff, who seem to view the customers as an annoyance preventing them playing on their cell phones.||||I would never use this...

For the price the hotel was expected. The bed was firm and uncomfortable but the room was clean and had what I needed for an overnight stay. The central air was not switched to cool in March so at times it was a little uncomfortable. None of the front desk staff spoke English which was trying at times. For foreigners any foreigners staying here communication will be challenging. If I needed something I had to go downstairs to ask because I couldn’t call. I would not stay at this hotel again and would recommend it to my Chinese friends only. The location was great for what I needed it for but if I wanted the city center I wouldn’t stay here. Not many things was at described in the app. The cleaning was poorly done and the shower didn’t work properly. We only stayed here one night and this is not a hotel I’m going back to. The offer amenities such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, comb, WiFi and water which was positive but unfortunately all of the amenities does give them a higher grade since the room wasn’t very cleaned and the shower didn’t work properly.
