Our first stay with Grand Mercure Shanghai Century Park started from the kind arrangements made by the hotel prior to our arrival. As an Accor Platinum member, the Assistant Front Office Manager Eric LIU offered us a free upgrade of the room category and helped to arrange the hotel’s executive lounge – the Club Lounge access for my parents. Upon arrival, as my mom was suffering from low back pain, I asked the hotel if it’s possible to change the comfortable box spring to a platform bed. Hotel’s phone operator MA Longlong (馬龍龍) made an efficient and excellent coordination for this request and QIN Zhixia (秦志霞), our housekeeper during the stay, quickly set up the bed for us. We owed them a big “thank you”!||We enjoyed afternoon tea and happy hour in the Club Lounge, which sits on the highest floor and enjoys a stunning view of Pudong skyline. What accompanied with the view was the excellent services and the exquisite food offered in the Club Lounge. The 2 female Club Lounge attendants Emma and Eva (李明月) personified what a 5-star service should look like – proactive, polite and patient – which constitute to be an essential part of professionalism in hospitality industry. The food and beverage further exemplified a heartful local heart that the Grand Mercure brand dedicates to bringing to its guests. Every bite was so delicate that you won’t want to break up its aesthetic presentation. I talked with the hotel’s F&B director Sue LUO (羅曉霞) and found her was an expert in F&B. No wonder why the hotel may offer that level of culinary experience. When many Chinese hotels sees F&B as a tasteless accessory to a hotel, the F&B in Grand Mercure Shanghai Century Park is one of its highlights that shouldn’t be missed out.||An enjoyable staying experience is the result of a successful team work. The people mentioned above brought our unforgettable first encounter with Grand Mercure Shanghai Century Park. It’s their efforts that will drive us to stay with the hotel again in the future and we look forward to coming back again!||Your...
Read moreThe hotel is not that impressive as you drive up, the lobby is of a good size, and got seen quite quickly by the checking in staff but didn’t speak much English so was a bit difficult🤔. again a big problem with getting the internet. Well hardly worth it as had to again use my own data.|The room ( club king suite) was a good size and had a corner room that had amazing views, also an electric storm which was a bonus to watch 😊 ) it also came with a plate of complementary fruit. |Complementary Drinks in the fridge was a nice touch. Which included soft drinks water and larger. Bathroom didn’t have anywhere to hang your towels, except a line you can pull across the Barth, but l think doesn’t look nice.|Breakfast was good but the set up is all wrong omelettes and eggs are on the other side of the restaurant where the places of bacon sausages beans are |The milk is away from the coffee 🤔 some other items not really in the place you would think it would be so a lot of going back and forth. 🤔🤔 the food is good most of it was hot, one morning the porridge was runny and cold so had to ask to be hotter.(still runny🤣) other day was nice. No|As we had paid for the club suite we had got a free drinks and light food include, which had in the day just soft drink and at 5.30 a selection of alcohol drinks like Bacardi gin whiskey 1 white and red wine|And cakes and some hot food, hot food was not impressive at all. Service is also very bad, each night (3) had to keep asking for things like wine glasses and extra wine, as one night only a 1/4 full |bottle 🤣🤔🤔 |The hotel is a little further out but to get a Dd taxi is very cheap? Much cheaper than normal taxis ) |The swimming pool was lovely outside and was so refreshing, did need to go to 2nd floor to go back down 🤔 needed shower on poolside and maybe a toilet as you eill need to go up again 🤔🤔🤔|But still l think the hotel is good had room done each day with A...
Read moreThe hotel is located within a residential area with Century Park nearby. It is adjacent to shopping complex 证大大拇指广场 (Zhengda Damuzhi Guangchang), which has eateries (largely Asian cuisines), Carrefour supermarket, retail shops, etc. Or cross the bridge to the shopping mall opposite 联洋广场 (Lianyang Guangchang), where you can find more shops eg. Starbucks and Costa Coffee.||||From Pudong Airport, the ride took about 40mins to the hotel. Cabby may not recognise the hotel name证大美爵酒店 (Zhengda Meifu Jiudian) or the road that the hotel is located - 迎春路 (Yingchun Road). But if you tell tell them "Damuzhi Guangchang" (means Big Thumb Plaza), they may be able to identify. Do have the hotel name and address in Chinese (specifically. in Chinese characters) with you. It is likely that the cabby will input these information and navigate using a mobile app. ||||Many hotel guests stayed here to attend events at SNIEC, which is a 5-min drive or a 30-min walk away. Getting to the Exhibition Centre was not an issue but getting back to the hotel was challenging with long queues for taxi at SNIEC.||||I previously stayed here when it was Radisson Blu Hotel Pudong Century Park. The room comfort level had been consistent. Room size was good for 2 pax and i like the bright lighting and modern decor. But I had issue with the bathroom privacy blind, which was not fully covered, leaving a gap next to a mirror, so do take note if you are sharing a room. ||||The breakfast was alright, except for the live stations (eg egg station), most items were not warm. Would have been ideal if there were more selections. Service was standard as with other hotels' service level in Shanghai -- not the 'smiley' sort of hospitality but they do deliver. During my stay, not sure what went wrong, a guest opened our room door by mistake, so do double-check to ensure that the door...
