General premise: I am an old customer of IHG hotels. Therefore I know the standards of Holiday Inn Express Hotels very well. I can certify that this hotel is not absolutely consistent with these standards. The room was dirty and even smelling badly. The furniture was unbelievably poor. Cannot comment the breakfast: no Western food, just a few fried eggs smashed on the top of each other and literally immersed in a pot of oil. I did not see any cake or croissant (unless I was unlucky). No fruit. Any table was unbelievably dirty. Check-in: front-desk absolutely rude. We arrived at late night: no warm welcome, our documents literally thrown back to us after the registration process was concluded. But the apex of our experience was reached when my wife asked for one bottle more of purified water. The front desk stated we could not have any bottle more, if not using the automatic machine (paying therefore). It never happened to me in any Holiday Inn in China! In this moment we are in the Holiday Inn Express Dongzhimen (Beijing) and someone brought just now two bottles of purified water in our room (no discussions, no extra payments). The next question is: how is it possible that IHG does not control the standards of an hotel of this kind? It is really a shame!...
Read moreI stayed at this hotel for 6 days and 7 nights at the end of June with my family (all adults). The front desk staff were helpful and there was always at least one person who could speak enough English for effective communication. ||The rooms were clean. The first we were given had plumbing issues but we were transferred to a different room immediately after complaining. The only thing we did not like was that the bath mats were disgusting and mouldy in both rooms and were never changed however often we complained. ||The only food I attempted to eat was breakfast on the first day and I hated it. I opted to pick up a light snack at the nearby grocery shops for the rest of the week. ||The hotel is a short (approx 15 minutes at a leisurely pace) walking distance from a large shopping centre and a metro station while also being in a residential area so there was a relaxed neighbourhood vibe. There are grocery stores three - five minutes away and a Starbucks and what seemed to be an outlet mall about five minutes away. Various banks and pharmacies within walking distance as well.||Overall, good location- for a tourist, you get the feeling of being in an average neighbourhood. Good service....
Read moreI was very disappointed in the hotel. First I booked a room for 3 people but upon arrival they gave me one room with a small bed, I asked to change it for 2 beds they didn’t allowed. The people in front desk told me they don’t have rooms and they couldn’t arrange anything for me. I asked to pay an extra bed or sofa, they refused as well. NO SOLUTIONS AT ALL, whoever was the mistake my parents and I we were already there, is not possible to make the guest wait so long without any solution, specially if is asking to pay for the solution. I had to call my friend whom booked for me and kindly call managers to solve the problem. We were very tired and they made me waste so much time and no giving any solution, so many issues that I don’t want to even remember and so much time expending in making them understand and giving them solutions, which is unacceptable for a hotel, the staff should be the one to help the guest. Me as guest I was problem handling for them. I didn’t like the service at all, front desk not professional at all. Unfortunately bad experience, and I wish they could understand the meaning of good...
