Stayed in Ramada twice for work - each trip was over two weeks. As far as hotels go, Ramada is pretty average. It has a pretty dated design in terms of the overall look of the hotel as well as their rooms. My company books me into a suite for my stay, which features a living area and a bedroom, separated by a hospital blind - so that explains a lot on Ramada in itself. ||||Management is dutiful here - they really try their best to ensure all guests are happy - but the staff working under them are lazy and inefficient. More than once, I've personally experienced bellboys and hotel staff shrugging me off until I spoke in Mandarin (to which they continued to refuse to help). More than once, I've seen the manager ring the bellboy's service desk for him to blatantly ignore the call as his own manager watched him. I've even had staff tell me it's peak period when I requested for a taxi to go to the airport, and walk away without helping me. ||||Rooms are always clean - even if furnishings are old. Housekeeping is honest and does they job diligently. I've had prostitutes slide their call cards under my door and ring my doorbell, and my company had to threaten to cancel our corporate contract with Ramada for them to call the police. ||||Location is good - short walk to WuJiaoChang, which is a business district. Bus stop is also right in front of the hotel, and there are many convenience shops, massage parlours and restaurants around. ||||Would I stay here again? For work? Maybe. If I had no other choice. There are worse hotels in...
Read moreFirst issue with this hotel is the smoking. There’s a sign in the room to say no smoking but the room still has a very strong smell of smoke. You can tell other guests were actually smoking on their rooms but management do nothing about it. We do not smoke so this was quite revolting.||The toilets in the restaurant where breakfast is served is not cleaned every day. There were cigarette butts in the in the same spot the whole three days were were there. ||It’s not in a good location, probably 10-15 minute walk to the train and 25-30 minutes to the city/sights.||There’s no room service or restaurant at night, have to pay more to watch a movie after a long day. Couldn’t even pay cash for a coffee on the lobby.||The beds aren’t comfortable, the carpets are stained and the bed frames falling apart. ||There are hotels much closer to the city and it’s worth paying a little more to stay at...
Read moreAfter the last stay in 10/2019, I came back to stay two nights due to its location and a low price for simplicity. A noticible improvement is its lobby with a newly added Tea House (CHADASHI) and an adjacent Shanghai Authentic Local cuisines restaurant whose Peking duck is excellent at ¥ 288 each while the same duck in Los Angeles is ¥ 950 on average after adding tax and services fee, also known as Tip!||Across the street, I enjoyed having a ¥ 14 breakfast at a King Dumping restaurant: Fried Dumplin; Salty tofu paste (咸豆腐浆) and one Tea Egg at ¥2 as well as a wonderful lunch with friends at 新南华大酒店 next to the Ramada Hotel。I will come back again...
