The hotel is located near the metro station, line 2. It takes 20-30 minutes to get to the center by metro. Still, once you figure out the metro lines, and where to exchange, the commute becomes easy. The hotel is nice and the rooms are spacious. It had everything we needed for our stay - the coffee machine, hot water at all times, and it generally looked quite clean. Breakfast was a disaster - the dining room was not heated and it was early November! We were in our coats and jackets. There was little choice for us Europeans - eggs and marmalade only, everything else was local food - but I shouldn't complain, because "one should do what the locals do!" There are a few supermarkets nearby, so we were able to buy some bagels and hot dogs. I didn't see a proper restaurant nearby, or any fast food, except at the metro station exit. Read moreStayed two nights in this hotel upon our arrival in Shanghai. Rooms allocated are clean, but air conditioning is turn off during nite time. Request to have air condition turn on for good nights sleep turn to deaf ears, so actually commanded the reception to place an electric fan in our room. Breakfast was terrible, no choice even for the average traveller. If you need to shop for necessity there is a small mart next to the lobby. Service is bad, none of the hotel staff is attentive to guest needs. There is no free wifi service, I was surprise, expected to have wifi since its a hotel in the city. Be careful if you want food at nearby stalls during night time as we witness gang fights at one eatery nearby. Policeman arrived at the spot within 15mins though. Beware of drunkards too, as there's a KTV...

Like, really unimpressed. ||When I woke up (in my pretty comfy bed), I attempted to shower with their awful water pressure and headed down for breakfast. I had a wonderful meal actually, despite every single staff member scowling at me. I checked out the next day to continue my travels. So, in sum, squeaky floors, smokey hallways and extremely unfriendly staff if you don't speak Mandarin. Like...laugh in your face when you try to ask a question unfriendly. But...
