Mercure Shanghai NECC — Hotel in Shanghai

This hotel is ok. Its just ok and not much better. The rooms are comfortable with a huge walk in wardrobe, and decent bathroom. The room came with 2 cans of drink that were replenished every day. |The breakfast buffet was fine, but thats the only food that is served at this hotel. If you want food any other times, you have to go out. Apart from a few tiny local food places, where if you dont speak Mandarin you wont have a clue whats going on, this hotel really is in the middle of nowhere. |Its one saving grace is there is a metro station (Panlong Road: line 17), 10 minutes walk from the hotel. |According to some guests, its good for the National Exhibition Centre, I dont know why else you would stay here though. |There is nothing about this hotel worth writing really, im boring myself just...

New Hotel with small rooms. About 20min away from NECC.Nobody speak or understand English.I had a online reservation, check-in takes an eternity. They tell me something about that they must cancel my reservation and book it new.Nobody can explain what the issue is. I am tired it is ~01:30am.No room service, not even a snack. There are no restaurants in the hotel for meals during the day. The location is good if one needs to go to the NECC. The staff is courteous and the rooms are fine. There is a departmental store at the rear of the hotel which is a always a convenient accessory. The breakfast is below average in terms of the variety but of good quality. The refilling of empty dishes is not very prompt. But the lack of restaurants is definitely a no go for me the next time.
