The Location:||The hotel is conveniently located in Hongqiao area next to the Shanghai Exhibition Center (CIIE etc.) and the large new Greenland Shopping Mall. From the airport Hongqiao app. 10 minutes by taxi and also easy reachable by subway. From Pudong Airport app. 1:30 hrs and from downtown (The Bund) app. 45 to 60 minutes, depending on traffic||||The Hotel||Extremely well managed upmarket business and leisure hotel which is truly very well organized. The hotel is relatively new and extremely well maintained. Overall the public areas and rooms are very clean. The lobby is very nice designed and pleasantly different compared to other luxury hotels. It features a nice bar within a "water area" and at the time of my visit a Porsche showcar parked in the water as an eye catcher. It also has a Nespresso Bar directly in the lobby in case a quick coffee on the run is the best option. I personally think this is also a nice idea.||||The Rooms||During my stay I decided to stay in the suite which is a very nice room featuring a modern design. The room has a separate large living and working room, guest bathroom, bedroom and master bathroom. Everything was very well maintained and absolutely clean. Something I am particularly fond of. The amenities placed in the room where all of very good quality and enjoyed using them. ||||Staff||The staff is super friendly and attentive throughout the hotel and tries to help where they can. Most of the staff I met speaks very good English; all are fast and efficient. Check-In and Check-Out was highly efficient and all my details were on hand at arrival. The GM is from Austria what I learned and I would say you can see the attention he and the entire team pays to details. It is truly a very well run place!||||Facilities||Gym and Spa deserve extra mentioning. All equipment is well maintained, latest versions and plentyfull. The pool is great for swimming, for just enjoying the water it could be a bit fresh. The club lounge sets a benchmark in terms of space and also food offerings.||||Overall it is a hotel which is now on top of my preference list when staying in Shanghai! Only downside - I couldn't find any reference for airline bonus point collection nor any own customer...
Read moreThe Primus looks like a newly landed spaceship on the edge of Shanghai. The location is in perfect synergy with the also-extra-terrestrial site of the Shanghai Expo Centre in Hongqiao.||||When Arno Nicolussi Moretto – the Hotel Manager insisted we hold our Farewell to Shanghai leaving event there, it made sense! Local to the large expat community and with enough bling to make it a truly memorable occasion for us. ||||Aided by his wing man, Maik Chrzescinski - their "Gegenpressing" style of hospitality and insistence on an outstanding service in their Moon Bar, left over 90 guests who attended the event lauding the night and promising to return for more! The quote of the night from Arno that captured the vibe was “there is a Hollywood atmosphere in our hotel”||||Then just a few days later my Wife decided we needed a quiet stay-cation for my Birthday and we were treated to a mega-upgrade on our stay. The rooms are amazing and extremely high value. When not busy due to lack of exhibitions and events in the area, Arno and Maik continue to use the quieter times to coach and develop the Staff into a tight knit professional unit. This was very evident as we were extremely well treated by the Staff who could not do enough for us. There was none of the strictness in the Executive Lounge (some hotels can’t wait to end the Happy Hour but not here) and food and drink was in endless supply. Their staff are trained to deliver a 5 star 🌟 service. ||||Did they do it? Of course they did and anyone travelling for business who need not stay downtown can opt for a "downtown" night close to the 2nd major airport and the Hub of Hongqiao and the railway station. ||||In summary, very Relaxed, exquisite. Like the flagship BICE Restaurant that resides within the Hotel complex, Primus is high-end, but outside of the main city. ||||Well done...
Read moreMy recent stay at the Primus Hotel Shanghai was an absolute pleasure. The exceptional hospitality began the moment I stepped through the doors. The staff here were incredibly friendly, helpful, and most impressively, Unlike many Chinees hotels, can speake English, making communication a breeze.||The room itself was comfort. The bed provided a restful night's sleep, the perfect remedy after a long day exploring the nearby Exhibition Center. Speaking of location, the Primus boasts an unbeatable one. It's literally steps away from the Shanghai Exhibition Center, a dream come true for business travelers – no more than a 5-minute walk!||But the convenience doesn't stop there. The hotel sits close to a Line 2 metro station, the same line that connects directly to Pudong International Airport. This eliminates the hassle of traffic or language barriers with taxi drivers. Exploring the rest of the city is effortless, thanks to the efficient metro system.||If your trip to Shanghai revolves around exhibitions, the Primus Hotel ticks all the boxes. With its exceptional hospitality, comfortable accommodations, and perfect location, it's the ideal place to stay for a stress-free and...
