Stayed on a business trip in a larger studio.|The hotel claims to be in Lujiazui but it's not, from there it's in the opposite direction from the city centre. There is a good mall (LCM) with restaurants, but for everything else you need to take a metro (line 6 is 10 min away) or a cab.|The room has everything needed for a business trip, including a small kitchen with a large fridge, a washing machine, an iron etc. Some questionable decisions though: main staircase is falling apart, windows are hard to open and very dirty, kitchen furniture has metal corners at the height of 1.70 m for maximum pain if you hit it with your head, rubbish bins are tiny.|The service was unfortunately bad. They asked an unreasonably high deposit and refused a European debit card, it took some negotiations for them to realise it couldn't work. First they refused to give me soap or shampoo because I was staying too long (?!), brought something after I insisted in machine translated Chinese. Room was cleaned twice a week, sometimes they forgot to empty the tiny rubbish bins, once they stained the floor while cleaning it (?!), also got a dirty towel and a torn...

It was quite frustrating as I asked the staff to fix it before my meeting, but it was not done when I returned at night. The food was all right, but there was literally only one restaurant. The room was all right but the lighting was too dim and dark, and some switches not working. I was required to pay the deposit, and it was fair until they forgot to update the system somehow. My laundry was taking longer than I was foretold, and I got to leave the next day. Then the housekeeping refused to release my laundry because the deposit was not registered in the system. I feel that it was unfortunate to have so many inconvenient incidents happened to me, and I think they should be able...
Read moreSmall foyer by Asian standards and no ATM - Bank of China two full blocks away. Rooms adequate - not large. Breakfast included with large range of Western and various Asian options. Handy to various attractions - 8km (and an inexpensive taxi to) Antiques Market of Shanghai Old Town. Just up the street on the corner is the "Welcomes Stranger"(sic) pot restaurant, fabulous value and also interesting (and modern). The hotel restaurant was woeful - maybe the food was OK but we left after experiencing the non existent service. The breakfast...
