Forced to stay here due to a delay and missed a transit flight. One of the worst hotel that I have the unfortunate fate to stay in. The receptionist asked for my passport during the check in(which is normal for China). I ask to get my passport back imminently because of two reasons. The first reason is because there are twenty plus guest( all one way of another missed a transit flight) checking in at once and the receptionist working seems very incompetent and she might lose my passport. The second reason is because I do not trust the security of this " three star" hotel. The receptionist went mad like a hater over my request for getting back my passport. She shiftily and shrewdly repeat why you need to act this way; it is very safe here and we will never lose your passport. Before the receptionist finished the sentence her co worker talked to her in local dialects( I lived in ShangHai for a couple of years and I have a basic understanding of the local dialects) "where is Mr.XXX's ID" She replied with detached and uncaring tone in local dialects "who knows ,maybe is in that pile of twenty plus passport/ID. " I sit and waited for twenty plus minutes in the middle of the night tired and listening to her and her coworker cursing me in local dialects. Finally I got my passport back and even more horror awaits in the "room". The room is a joke no better then a barn for farm animals the door is fragile and the lock is barely working. The chain for the door is broken. The room is dirty and the shower is barely working. The worst things is as I baidu this hotel first item that pops up regarding this hotel is peach blossom castle murder( unfortunately I cannot find out more). Afraid ,tired and feeling trapped I have to put a chair to the door and laying half awake for the whole night fearing my life and praying the night will end soon. As I check out I the morning the "security" or I assume is the security chase after me and threaten to physically do me harm over a very small matter( I by honest mistake from insomnia told him a wrong room number). In summary this is dangerous place and I would not recommend anyone to stay here. please stay far far away from it ,if you...
Read moreThis is a "free" accoommdation offered by China Eastern Airlines for transit passengers. My hotel voucher stated that its location was near Pudong but in fact, it took at least half an hour to and from the Airport on the outskirts of the city. You found nothing around the hotel area, not even a convenient store. ||||The room was clean and tidy but as in many premises in China, you cannot avoid the smoky smell at the lobby, corridors and some public areas. The staff is typical of Chinese-style: cold and totally lack of customer-oriented attitude. Consider this is a free offer, I cannot give much expectations but I would say, if Chinese carriers want to be competitive & promote their International images, this hotel would ruin everything, definitely.||||P.S. Avoid transit at Mainland's airports. My experience this time at Pudong taught me a lesson. On my way back at Pudong where I need to change my plane immediately, there was a long line of people waiting for inspection at the transfer desk. The long line scared me. You could not know what's exactly happening: no assistance of staff & no clear indication at the line. I was in the line waiting for more than one hour before I can reach the transfer desk. What the transfer desk people do was just to put a stamp on my boarding pass (which was already issued at the origin) & simply asked me where I was originally from. This is absolutely a waste of time and manpower. Again there was no assistance and none of staff seemed to care or had the intention to clear the long line. There was no check-through service for this airlines. ||||Another episode is that while I was waiting in line for check-in, I was disturbed by teenage girls twice who probably pretended to be disables and asked me for donations. This was terribly annoying and I already reported the disturbances to MU staff right away after...
Read moreChina Eastern put us up here when we failed to make a connecting flight. It was fine. The room is clean. There are toiletries. The food was good. The staff knew enough English to answer basic questions and help us get a taxi to the nearby Animal Park. I have no complaints. |I wouldn't choose to stay here on a vacation, because there isn't much around. But for a 24 hour delay, it suited our needs just fine. ||If you are here and your flight doesn't leave until the afternoon, it's a Y12 taxi ride each way to get to the animal park, which was Y130 to enter. It's a nice zoo. There are pandas. My kids (11 and 13) enjoyed our morning there. We got there at 8:30 and stayed until 10:30 and saw all the animals we wanted to. It was a...
