Shanghai International Airport Hotel — Hotel in Shanghai

My first time at Shanghai’s Hongqiao airport en route back to Hong Kong and I’m very pleased. Less frantic, less busy and not flooded with tourists, this airport makes it a joy for a business traveler! Japanese business men are aplenty here and the VIP lounge was a busy stopover with waves of travelers every 30 mins. The Chinese and Japanese airlines are very full with suits, not families. Now...if my flight actually leaves on time (delays from Shanghai are famous here!) I might actually use this airport again! ||I cannot comment on the airport’s connectivity by underground as I had a ride from Zhongshan Park one way to the airport. On the map, Line 10 goes to T1 and Lines 2&10 go to T2. Line 2 travels directly from Pudong all the way to Hongqiao T2 and is the main artery of activity. I’m sure taxis and shuttles...

We arrive at this airport around 4:00 pm and quickly join the queue for immigration. The process was slow. You need to take finger prints of all the fingers on both hands before joining the line. ||||The officer was professional and did not ask any questions after we provided our passport. You had to verify your prints again before you are allowed to pass immigration.||||The airport was very modern and clean. With lots of public washroom , shops and places to eat. Sono stato in questo hotel per oltre un mese per lavoro. Si trova esattamente di fronte al Terminal 1 dell'aeroporto Hongqiao che può essere raggiunto a piedi in 3 minuti. A piedi in 10 minuti si raggiunge agevolmente la fermata della linea 10 della metropolitana che permette di spostarsi facilmente ovunque in tutta la città. Alcuni taxi stazionano continuamente davanti all'hotel.||L'edificio è abbastanza datato ma ben tenuto ed è completamente circondato da un bel giardino in stile giapponese con fontane e cascate oltre a molto verde che crea un effetto di schermatura con l'esterno. La hall è molto ampia e gradevole per chi entra nell'albergo. Le camere sono ampie e confortevoli, con letti ad una piazza e mezzo molto spaziosi. L'arredamento è vecchio e talvolta sciupato e questo conferisce alla camera un aspetto a volte un pò malandato. L'albergo ha ovunque copertura wi-fi e accesso a internet, ma come spesso in Cina, la connessione è lenta e instabile. Al pian terreno oltre la hall c'è il ristorante molto ampio e luminoso grazie alle ampie vetrate che danno sul giardino. La mattina vi viene servita la colazione di ottimo livello e ricchissima di varietà, sia cinesi che occidentali. L'ottima qualità del cibo, l'ambiente accogliente e la rasserenante vista del verde e delle cascate del giardino permettono di iniziare la giornata nel migliore dei modi. Per pranzo e per cena il ristorante offre un'ottima varietà di piatti sia cinesi che occidentali e i prezzi sono bassi rispetto agli standard di Shanghai.
