As an airline pilot, this is one of the nicest hotels I've stayed
My only complaint is that while I was waiting for the airport shuttle, I sat at the lobby where there's a bar, with the only seats available being there, A few minutes go by and I was approached by a server telling me to either order something or seat somewhere else because you are obligated to consume something if you want to sit there which I think it's quite weird because I'm a guest the hotel so I'm already a paying customer, why would they kick me out of that zone for not ordering a drink while waiting a few minutes for my shuttle?
Gardens are beautiful and well maintained. Also, the hotel theme resembles a Chinese Castle 🏰
The service is great. They put attention to detail. I can tell these people have trained a lot to serve their guests.
Rooms are spacious. The beds are comfortable. The bathrooms have good amenities and I enjoy the view of the gardens from my room. I had to switch rooms because the first one I got had a bad AC so it was really hot. I called front desk saw and they sent some maintenance guy and after discussion they decided to change rooms. I got one that was a little bit bigger with the good AC and it was perfect.
The breakfast buffet has several options from Western to Asian, everything is fresh. They even have noodles, different pastries, eggs, different sorts of salads, Asian style, coffee which is not so great because of the machine they use is poorly calibrated. But the coffee beans are of good quality. I sell myself the packaging but the machine is not a good one so..
You also get fruit, cereal and many other delicious foods that you can try.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel if you want to stay close to the airport. Have quick access to the MRT. Enjoy the nice gardens. Good food and quality rest for a decent price.
My suggestion is not to kick out the guests from the mini bar at the lobby, especially if the bar is empty like it was today with so many...
Read moreThis is actually my third time staying at the Royal Garden in Shanghai, and every time I’m blown away by how beautiful it is. The architecture has a classic Chinese style, the rooms are cozy and elegant, and the whole property is full of picture-perfect spots, it’s honestly breathtaking from the moment you arrive 📸The breakfast is good, and the atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing. Just a heads-up: the hotel is a bit far from the city center, so be sure to plan ahead if you’re heading to major tourist spots. Luckily, there’s a train station only 5 minutes away by foot, which makes getting around much easier. If I had to point out one downside, it’s the customer service. Every time I’ve stayed, the front desk staff felt a bit distant, not rude, but not very warm either. That said, the overall experience more than makes up for it.Would definitely recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a quiet, scenic stay in Shanghai with a touch of elegance and...
