Extremely disappointed – this hotel is nowhere near 5 stars
I’m honestly very upset and stressed. This hotel is rated 5 stars, but in reality, it barely deserves 3, maybe 4 stars at best.
I’m staying on the 37th floor in a room where the air conditioning is broken. I called to report it, and they claimed everything was fine, but the room is noticeably warmer than the hallway. Their only solution was to give me a fan – seriously?
The pillows were disgusting – they smelled like sweaty men. I asked for replacements, and although they brought new ones, those also smelled awful. Do you even wash the actual pillows, or just the pillowcases? It's unhygienic and unacceptable.
And then the windows… covered in greasy smudges from people’s hands and foreheads. Do you ever clean them? It’s honestly disgusting to look at.
The service was just as bad. When I tried to extend my stay because I was too exhausted to move to another hotel, one of the front desk staff completely ignored me. No interest, no empathy.
This is NOT a 5-star hotel experience. I feel misled, disappointed, and uncomfortable. Take one of those stars back – it’s not deserved. Would absolutely...
Read moreRoom was small but clean and nice. Location was excellent. The building has multiple elevators thus guests can enter privately. I liked the elevator 5. Checkin was easy and checkout was extremely easy (just go!). Because of its affordability, cleanliness and privacy, I am very likely to visit it again. Environment was peaceful. There were clean towels and sleepers to wear on feet. I couldn’t find the switch board near fridge thus I couldn’t turn on the fridge. Also, the water was very hot in washroom I moved the tap on both sides and water was still hot. Thus, I faced bit difficulty in taking shower but may be there was a trick that I didn’t know. Because I was already inside i couldn’t afford to wear clothes again and go out to seek help from the staff. It’s slightly difficult to find it but once you arrive at Sheraton Hotel you can easily arrive at this...
Read moreI spent nearly a month in this hotel. I remember check-in. I got there about 10:30 p.m. It took nearly an hour to get checked in. The breakfast buffet had a lot of choices. It was hard to find a table due to most tables being dirty and no one cleaning them. I've stayed in hundreds of hotels in China. This hotel is definitely not a 5-star hotel by Western standards. Perhaps a 3.5-star at best. The view of the Yangpu Bridge at night is one of the most beautiful sights I've ever seen. As another reviewer said, the carpets are dirty and massively stained. But, it is hard to find a hotel in China that cleans their carpet. Being a Western branded hotel, I expected...
