Clean sheets and firm bed||CONS |- Maybe because of the climate, the beds felt damp |- Soundproofing can be better; we can hear people talking loudly at the stairwell |- Housekeeping staff often forget to replace bathroom mats and refill toilet paper ||Was told that this entire resort or hotel was previously used to host government officials hence it’s supposed to be a luxury accommodation. However, perhaps since it’s no longer used to serve its original purpose, it has now deteriorated into a lacklustre villa with a hint of its former glory.||It’s a comfortable stay for a work trip in Villa 2, but if it’s for vacation, I suggest you look around for...

Read moreI ended up staying in this hotel for about 4 or 5 days in the end of November/early December. It's a nice hotel with a massive outdoor pool, and a decent gym. The Chinese food I found nothing short of spectacular. Great sea food! Not so sure about the 'western' food. They sell excellent espressos, and espresso based coffees in the Western bar in the lobby, but beware of the price tag. The rooms have internet access included, as far as I can tell. However, if you rely on wireless (aka Macbook Air), you'll have to do your business in the lobby as there's only an ISDN based internet access in the rooms. The rooms are very spacious, they feature massive TV sets from another era and a good collection of Chinese and international channels. My bathroom featured a modern walk-in type shower. ||The only 'problem' really had to do with the hotel staff's lack of English language competence. Looking at the comments on this site, I suspect that that might not really be a problem as they seem to have only very few English language visitors...
