OCT Bay Breeze Hotel — Hotel in Shenzhen

Stayed 10 nights for a conference and teaching engagement. I had a quite unforgettable experience. This hotel is at the heart of a nice neighbourhood. The location is great: right at the OCT Happy World near O’Plaza shopping centre, Shenzhen Bay, and Close to metro stations. The hotel itself is trendy, modern, and very clean. Room has a great view and very spacious. Shower and toilet was in separated room. Toilette is complete and expensive. It has a nice Gym for working out. Staffs are all well trained: very attentive, considerate, and thoughtful. Housekeeping staffs (e.g. 聂艾梅 and her colleagues) would quietly tell you that it was raining hard outside, and there was an umbrella we can use. The staffs (Summer) including those at the front desk (e.g. 张新宇 and his colleagues) are all very helpful. When I told them that there was someone knocked my room at 1:30 am and left which waked me up at 1:30 am. They immediately investigated the security video and informed me that it was the guest stayed in next few door away was drunk and mistaken my room as his room. Summer, the staff and manager?, apologized and sent me a small gift and a busked of fruit. You can tell they are making every effort to let guests feeling comfortable and safe. The staffs in this hotel is, perhaps, the best trained staffs in all the hotels in China I have stayed. Room is decent and tidy but, in some places, has a little shabby condition. The air-conditioner was found defected and someone was called for the repairs on site. Initial findings showed that some parts of the air-conditioner had to be replaced and I asked for changing the room coz I do not want to wait. However, I got the reply was that I had to pay more for changing a higher grade of room because the normal types of room were rented out. I was so surprised by this reply because it was not my fault about the defected facilities in my room. very good location, spacious and nice decorated room with large balcony, broad view, free mini bar with snack and soft drink, welcome fruit, 25m swimming pool and gym, can say it’s perfect. but staff internal communication not good enough, plan to have dinner at hotel restaurant, told by front desk we were not able to have dinner as have to book in advance, finally went out for dinner.
