I am a Hotel executive from New York and my reservation was from November 13 thru November 23, 2016.||Check in was seamless. Upon entry into room, my first impression was the room seemed to be small for an Executive room. After taking a shower, the bathroom flooded. There was drainage problem and the water was not draining as it should. I immediately contacted the front desk and they sent an engineer to take look and promptly moved me to another room on the same floor and everything worked fine. They handled and resolved the problem promptly.||As someone that is familiar with Hotels and the hospitality industry, I usually look for a guest directory regarding the hotel and its services and amenities, but there was nothing to be found. i sent a note to the management during my stay to mention this and the following day, they placed a room service menu in my room. That was nice, but I personally do not think that it was enough to promote the various amenities and services available to a guest stay at this hotel. I personally would want to advertise and promote all the restaurants and the spa located in the Hotel.||As an executive floor (Room 2705) occupant, I had access to the Hospitality room located on the 32nd floor, but I did not know about it until I happened to walk around the Hotel and explore and inquire about the various Hotel services. I think it would have been nice to have some thing posted in my room or maybe a postcard making me aware that I had access to the 32nd floor lounge.||The most memorable person I encountered during my stay was the young lady that worked at 32nd floor lounge. She was very pleasant and always welcomed me with a nice smile. (Not sure of here name, but I think it was Irene) She was always willing to assist with any and all my needs during my stay. She even offered me her umbrella as she was leaving on break. She was a true "diamond in the rough" and probably deserves a management position.||The best part of this hotel was the location and its proximity to the train station which is located a few steps from the main entrance of the hotel which made traveling most convenient and cost effective if you do not want to take taxi everywhere.||KFC (open 24 hours) is located directly across from the hotel and plenty of restaurants nearby so food and eating was convenient an inexpensive.||At check out, I told Martina that I needed a taxi to the airport. She told me that she could request a Uber car but had to pay her in advance since she was using her personal account. I did not mind as it was raining and I needed to get to the airport.||I waited a couple of minutes and a metered taxi cab pulls up and was told this was my car to the airport...seemed odd for a Uber car, so I asked the driver if he received payment and he said NO. I went back to Martina and asked her to confirm that this was the car she requested for me. After speaking to the taxi driver, they apparently worked it out but there was definitely something wrong with the arrangement made between the driver and Martina. A word of caution, make sure payment is squared away before you get into the car/taxi.||Overall, this was a good hotel with a great location for commuting. It is not the best hotel out there, but good based on the above mentioned areas of concern. I would consider staying here again and would recommend this...
Read moreRoom was standard type, with reasonable quality and size. Corridors and elevators are smoke free, so expect some inconveniences there. The nearby room was smoking one so it usually vented to my room so had to isolate some areas of a connecting door. Not very pleasant.||||Some days the hotel had plenty of retired Chinese people traveling in groups, it was really annoying sound levels and hard to get sleep before 2AM, many would be drunk walking through the corridor and even knocking my door by mistake. After 3 days of this situation the group went out and calm was total, very different experience in the same week.||||The hotel location is far from Futian downtown city center, you should look for this location if you are not expected to visit Futian every day.||The nearby area has enough attractions, including 2 large shopping mall with all kind of restaurants, shops, coffee and bakery.||Breakfast is very limited for western kind of food, but very rich in Chinese options.||Hotel staff has very limited communication capabilities in English, sometimes you may have trouble asking for a taxi or other common things: it is always in your interest to bring a phone translator app with you, to limit chances of...
Read moreExpensive hotel and was shocked to have to pay £122 pounds before I could book in on arrival. This needs mentioning in literature. Room was ok but wallpaper was peeling off the walls so clearly damp so not impressed considering the very high price they are asking per night. Cleaning staff were delightful but management are rude and very inflexible - one example of this is that I had booked for breakfast and paid but on the day was too ill to go down to breakfast. I asked management if I could use the breakfast i had paid for on another day and was told NO - it is not our policy. If you want breakfast you must pay again - this despite me clearly looking sick and unwell. This is a mean and greedy attitude and an attitude that implies money and profit are more important than customer goodwill and common sense. I have spoken to other visitors to this hotel and they too have had a rather inflexible attitude from this hotel management. Disappointing and will not be visiting this particular hotel in my future travels. My advice is to search trip advisor as there are better hotels that offer better value and better...
