We had a family staycation over the weekend at St. Regis Shenzhen Bao’an. It was a memorable stay that when I did the checkout my kids asked me that this isn’t our last stay at this hotel right? ||St. Regis Shenzhen Bao’an is designed by interior architect Andre Fu, and it seems his first design in Mainland China. I was impressed by his designs at St Regis HongKong and Waldorf Bangkok before, and again this time SR SZ shows strong label of Andre Fu. The public area and the room incorporate local cultural elements, enriched by accents of blue colour to add the sense of depth, and elevated by small art pieces to enhance the luxury, while it still maintains a restrained overall expression, not too overwhelming. This perfectly matches my taste. It is like a SR HK plus version. The current view is amazing, and after Tencent HQ island construction is completed, the view would be even more stunning. ||Before my checkin, I had a miscommunication with the hotel resulting in some frustration. Manager Kelly called me to explain in a very client-oriented way to resolve the misunderstanding, and manager Joshua assisted to provide a much higher-than-expectation room arrangement that made our stay incredibly cozy. During the stay, we had a small issue with the room, but manager Jacqueline quickly fixed it in a very professional manner, and also listened to our suggestions carefully with positive feedbacks. ||The breakfast is beyond the standard of luxury hotel, and was the best hotel breakfast I had in this year. The welcome fruit was generous. Butler could also assist to send food delivery I ordered from other platforms to the room very fast.||In an effort to be more eco friendly, the hotel uses Voss stay-on tab can as the container of the drinking water. I do appreciate such environmental concern, but I would think it would be more convenient to simply use refillable glass bottle. ||St. Regis Shenzhen Bao’an is really a good place for staycation to feel the vibes of luxury and experience the considerate butler service. It is a newly opened hotel still with potential to refine to perfection, but with the passion and commitment I can feel from every staff I met during the stay, I do think St. Regis Shenzhen Bao’an definitely will be the flagship hotel of Marriott hotels of the Greater Bay Area and St Regis brand among...
Read moreHeartful thank you to Oscar Dear Management of St. RegisI am writing to express my sincere gratitude for the exceptional service provided during my recent stay at your hotel. Specifically, I would like to commend Oscar from the front desk for his outstanding professionalism, attentiveness, and genuine commitment to ensuring a memorable guest experience.Upon check-in, Oscar greeted me with warmth and efficiency, setting a positive tone for my stay. During check-out, he took the time to kindly ask about my experience and listened attentively to my feedback. When I mentioned a minor issue, he promptly addressed it with great care and resolution. Additionally, his thoughtful gesture of presenting a teddy bear as a gift truly touched me and significantly enhanced my overall impression of the hotel. While my stay was mostly pleasant, there were two minor incidents that could have impacted my experience. First, there was a misunderstanding with the concierge team regarding courier delivery services. Fortunately, the butler quickly stepped in, understood my needs, and made an exception to assist me. She also patiently explained the reasons behind the policy, doing so in such a polite and comforting manner that I truly appreciated.Secondly, there were no universal sockets compatible with UK plugs, my laptop ran out of battery but I had to reply an email via that laptop. I contacted the butler for a converter, after over 10 minutes, one was provided but no way to plug to the wall socket. I called the butler again, then it took nearly an hour for the housekeeping team to find a suitable power strip. I acknowledge that, as a guest, I should have been better prepared, and I understand that such situations can sometimes be beyond the hotel’s immediate control. Or maybe my expectation to the butler team is far over.Despite these small setbacks, Oscar’s efforts during check-out completely eased my frustrations and left a lasting positive impression. His dedication to guest satisfaction is truly commendable, and I believe he is a valuable asset to your team.I hope this feedback reaches the appropriate channels and that Oscar receives the recognition he deserves. Thank you once again for a wonderful stay, and I look forward to returning to the St. Regis...
Read moreLet me start with the good stuff: The facilities and in-room furniture here are impeccably crafted— neither JW Marriott or Le Méridien down the street can come remotely close. You can feel the difference in every textured surface and perfectly placed accent.|||But here’s the thing: St. Regis sells itself on emotional alchemy not its furniture—those moments that can potentially turn stays into stories. While there’s clear potential, a few missteps left me thinking, “Almost… but not quite.” Here are 4 of them:||• Plastic wrapping from the slab/case of water cans left crumpled on the table after a refill? At this tier, I expect staff to leave without a trace, not leave such a huge piece of plastic wrapping as evidence of their hurriedness. ||• The pool attendant barked about swim caps like a PE teacher—no “Sir,” no smile, just orders. A gentle reminder (or, dare I say, a pre-pool heads-up?) would’ve stung less.||• Missed the Champagne Ritual because I was told 6:30 PM instead of 6. A tiny detail, but rituals are sacred here, no? (To their credit, the duty manager comped us with two cocktails of our choice which more than made up for this mishap)||• My “dedicated” butler “reminded” me—twice—about breakfast hours… after I’d explicitly said I’d be hibernating. Nitpicky? Maybe. But when you’re claiming to provide bespoke butler services, you notice the misses.|||Now, the hero moment: A MASSIVE shoutout to Mia (night shift, April 20th). When my wife spiked a fever, Mia didn’t just offer sympathy—she took concrete action and turned a stressful night into a masterclass in care. Honestly, her grace single-handedly reignited my faith in the Marriott Bonvoy universe.|||The verdict: This place glitters, everything is brand spanking new but the magic lies in the finer stitches. Train the team to match Mia’s intuition, tighten those details, and this particular St. Regis could go from “good” to...
