First off, this hotel although located far from the City Centre, is however, a 10 minute walk away from the metro. The hotel is located within a pretty rundown neighbourhood, with a handful of small eateries located nearby as well as a supermarket where you can get pretty much anything.||The rooms are nicely furnished but the housekeeping staff could do with more training. I came back to my room a few times to find the cups unwashed and the counter tops dirty.||The front desk staff on the other hand were extremely polite and helpful, the check-in and check-out process was an absolute breeze. Whenever I ran into problems with the washing machines in the laundry room, or getting a taxi booked, the front desk staff would instantly appear by my side and offer their assistance.||My reservation came with breakfast, which was a pretty good spread. You get a good variety of toasts, steamed buns, porridge, or noodles, which the staff will cook for you on the spot. Apart from the usual tea/coffee, you also get soya milk and orange juice. Breakfast is usually served between 0700 - 1000hrs daily.||Although far from the city centre, it is located near to the Tiger Hill attraction and the Tiger Hill Metro station. The excellent service I received at this hotel is a definite pull factor for me if I am to visit Suzhou...
Read moreThis hotel is one that you will certainly remember when visiting Suzhou. It is located not too far from the Tiger Hill temple. The hotel interior and exterior design has been carefully crafted to create a harmonious environment that makes you feel welcome and a place that you don't want to leave. The black and white decor in each room is simply perfect to my taste with public spaces on each floor. It is simplistic yet modern and charming such as the white painted bricks and the elegant black frames that were really well thought. Even high-end hotels will not provide you with this relax and exquisite feeling and trust me I have been to many hotels in China. The environment is very quiet and the staff extremely responsive. Moreover you should definitely try the small restaurant that give you a taste of Suzhou local food, I highly recommend it. And to top it all, the price is very affordable. I had a fabulous stay and will definitely...
Read moreMy maiden trip to Suzhou.. stayed at Cendre Hotel. The room is spacious, just that if you can't read chinese, it could be a bit challenging though because the air cond remote is all in Mandarin..😆 thank God we have Google translate and it solved all the problem. Whatsapp doesn't work if you connect to their WiFi, hence you got to have wechat and you're good to go. They even offer self service laundry. And there's a lot space where you could walk out from your room and have a space to talk and sit down outside the hotel area. One of the nights we didn't want to go out for dinner and we decided to eat at their restaurant. We ordered cold chicken, fried rice cracker, brocoli, famous prawn ball that looks like lychee!! And the famous local osmanthus cake.. yummy 😋 of i were to go suzhou again, this is a good to...
