Garden Hotel — Hotel in Suzhou City

Overall a standard budget hotel, rooms and breakfast acceptable. Garden design was pretty.||||However experience was tainted on my last day as we asked the hotel reception / concierge to book us a taxi to the train station the night before - which was refused as reception advised us Suzhou station is very close (15mins by car) and it would be easy to flag down a taxi in the morning (even in 8am peak time). In reality it was nearly impossible to flag down a taxi due to morning traffic and the hotel being in a fairly residential area. This hotel needs a bit of care and attention, it's a little out dated and the windows don't keep much noise out which we found out when there was a wedding party outside our window till late.||The location isn't great but there are lots of little local places around to shop for some nibbles, eat or to go get a drink.||The best thing about this hotel was the garden, especially in the morning when it was so quiet and empty, the koi followed me around, I’m assuming they were expecting me to feed them.||The rooms need to be spruced up a bit but if like me, you’re only here for a night, it won’t matter too much.||The breakfast was ok, the dining room was...

The gardens of this hotel are pretty, but this is the only specialty. The rooms are average, not good, not bad, clean. Some things could do with a little more attention but the essentials were fine.||Breakfast was all right and the staff was friendly. There were some tourgroups staying in the hotel, who were noisy in the hallway early in the morning.||||The hotel is about 1,5 km from the edge of the old city were there are restaurants (that rarely see a foreigner) and from the nearest metro station but about 4 km from the museum and the more charming touristy street and canal.
