This is my second visit to Kempinski after a failed experience in Shanghai. What a turnaround this was, Kempinski Suzhou is an absolute gem! From before arrival to the actual stay, they provided top notch service throughout. On arrival day, I received a call asking if i needed a hotel pickup and they double checked everything I filled up during the pre-arrival survey. All of my requests were met. ||Kempinski is located in a huge grounds overlooking the Jinji lake on one side and the golf course on the other. It is situated within the Suzhou Industrial Park. It is a drive into the hotel itself from the main road, but it is a beautiful stretch littered with greenery throughout, a sight rare in China. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by the concierge and whisked into check in. As a Titanium member, I was given a double upgrade. One room to the Premier Lakeview and the other to the Premier Golf View. Both views are equally good although I would argue that the golf course is much nicer to look at at night. The Premier rooms were huge and looks very new. The king size bed could fit us family of 3. The windows were huge enough for you to get a wide angle view of the external views. Running perpendicular along the length of the window was a long couch for you to chill out. In addition, there was another standalone couch with leg rest on the side, with the usual desk. Plenty of sitting space around! The TV channels were well stocked with both local and international channels. Importantly , there was Star Sports 2! The toilet was huggeeee!! Two sinks, a clean bath tub, spacious shower and a WC with automatic cleaning functions. Wardrobe storage was also generous. My family really enjoyed our staycation. It was my daughter’s birthday so they got a cake for us to celebrate! ||Breakfast has got to be the best i have ever experienced, anywhere in the world! Not an exaggeration at all. The western selection was really tasty. Bacons, hashbrowns, eggs, mushrooms… loved them all! The best has got to be the pastry section. Kempinski I feel has a really strong pastry team. Their pastry buffet looks exquisitely done up with the Christmas decorations! Of course, this was matched with a high standard of baking. You wouldn’t want to miss their breakfast. Whats more.. the view of the lake was fantastic!||Having said this much, the best aspect of Kempinski was the staff. The staff were extremely professional when they needed to, extremely helpful when needed, and they just really made me feel at home. I was talking to my family and we all agreed that the team really put their heart into their work, everyone takes pride in what they do. This is why you see the Christmas decorations so beautifully made, all of it comes from the heart. This is why every moment in Kempinski Suzhou is awesome. The staff are true hospitality gems. ||I have no qualms staying here for a few more days. Kempinski Suzhou just luxury, it was warm and cosy at the same time. From the concierge, the check in staff, the lady standing at the buffet entrance, the egg chefs, the wait staff, the housekeepers, they were such an outstanding team! It’s so hard to pinpoint that one staff. Location may be a little far off but if you really want a place to unwind, Kempinski Suzhou will live up to expectations. Till...
Read moreI am a professional Santa and had been entertaining guests all day at major Suzhou attractions (Not the kempenski). We decided to go for dinner and a weekend hotel stay and went to their restaurant for seafood first. We were very tired, cold and hungry. This was a reservation at 6:30pm ||||We arrived in the lobby and couldn't find a single staff member speaking English. What we did find was several girls laying on the tables either on their phones or apparently asleep. See my photos. We finally found the restaurant and arrived to the restaurant to find it stinking of old oil and smelly seafood. Trash was all over the floor and this was at 6:30pm..not the end of the night. They were out of most featured entrees. Check out the disgusting picture of their "Christmas Turkey". We sat and waited for thirty minutes but all they had was greasy cold inedible garbage for Christmas. Look at the seafood picture! 30 minutes and ole room temperature tiny crab leg. In all this time, their customer service never greeted us..never came to our table. It was a rude, disgusting and unsettling experience.||||When the table behind us started loudly burping and throwing more food onto the floor, we took all we could take of the stench, bad food and terrible diners...and cancelled our room reservation. The waitress tried to charge us when we left after eating nothing and never even being offered a drink.||||So we had no dinner...we had to cancel our room because we were so disgusted and disappointed. This was a terrible experience and I'll never ever go there again. We took a car to the W after and got treated correctly. This was shameful for a supposed...
