Holiday Inn Tianjin Riverside — Hotel in Tianjin

Having to earn Spirit Elite and Platinum status for many years, i am more than qualify to know what a great and terrible experiences there are. This property is one of premium property in the city of Tianjin. It had been one of my favor hotel in the city in the past. However, it all change from this stay. I do not believe the property earn any more future stay business from me.

Right after checking in, i went to the room. The temperature at time (early afternoon) was reading at 27C about 81F. I didn't think twice but simply switch the AC unit to cool the room down. A few hours after dinner, when i return to the room again, the thermostat was reading at 29C, about 84F. it was quite clear, like many Holiday inn in China, the property has not turn on the AC. But, it's already in April, which is very very late for not turning the AC. I would not classify a 84F is a comfort room to stay and rest during the night.

So, i open all of the available windows i can find in the room, 1. As the night approaching, the room temperature is not improving. I call the front desk and get no help or support to help to cool down the situation. So, i have to leave the window open, comfort off the bed, and pretty much sleep negative. Well, as Tianjing temperature finally dig down in the wee morning hours, i was already too tire to get up and close the window.

A few days past this horrible stay, i caught the cold and fever. I was looking back on the trip to see what was the potential cause of me catching the cold. I can absolute point this stay was the sole cause of it. For a 5 stars rating hotel in the prime location of Tianjin, and with the cost of the stay, i really don't think it was properly justify. Personally, i will move to other choice of hotel in my future Tianjin stay and I will strongly suggest all Holiday Inner to look into other...

I have stayed 4 times in the last few months on business and find the hotel very comfortable and the staff friendly and efficient. They always remember me when I return.

The rooms are spacious, comfortable and very clean. Cafe Venice serves a good variety at breakfast and dinner is a buffet serving both Chinese and theme dishes from around the world which change regularly. There is also an a la carte menu which is a bit limited but the food is well cooked and presented. The manager (Johnson) always makes sure I am looked after and makes me feel right at home. Very important for a lone female traveller. The Friday night party for international visitors run by Victor is great fun!

Situated adjacent to the river by the Tianjin Eye and river boat cruises. Very nice to walk along the river promenade. Although on the edge of the city I find it possible to walk downtown in about 45 minutes (I love to walk) but taxis are always available. There are other shops closer and the ancient cultural street (well worth a visit) is only 20 minutes walk.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with my recent stay at your hotel.

First of all, the TV in my room had a serious problem. The picture quality was extremely poor, with part of the channels showing not only a lot of mosaics but also being so blurry that it was impossible to make out any details on the screen.

Secondly, the blinds in the shower room could not be closed. This affected my privacy.

I have always had a good impression of IHG hotels, and I believe that such problems are not in line with the high - standard service your brand usually provides. I hope you can take this matter seriously and take immediate measures to rectify these issues. In addition, I think some form of compensation, such as a discount on my next stay or some points added to my membership account, would be appropriate.
