It’s been 3 weeks that my husband and I have been staying at the New World hotel in Wuhan. We are here for medical reasons and we choose this hotel for its location being walking distance to the hospital. Our schedule is all over the place as we follow the hospital and my husbands needs. These past 3 weeks staying at this hotel has made it so smooth and hassle free. Already being very restrictive with our diet with the Food and Beverage Manager we have been ordering our meals because of the language barrier we send her messages and everything is prepared to perfection even out of the room service working hours. The hotel has been flexible, accommodating, clean and very professional. Also with providing me with weights and gym equipment to workout in my room even though they have a great gym, sauna and steam room. We are here for another 5 weeks maybe more and very happy to have chosen this hotel. It really makes a huge difference when the service is good, the quality is above average, and one is comfortable giving the time to focus on my husband instead. We are staying in one of the smaller rooms as these were recently renovated the room is spacious and the layout is very comfortable. The room is impeccably cleaned daily with fresh white towels lots of water. The room is comfortable and quiet during the day as well as night as we need to spend much time in the room. The bathrooms are well laid out with bathtubs which also makes a difference. All in all we are very happy that we choose this hotel and would highly recommend for services and professionalism. They have exceeded our...
Read moreI stayed here five years ago and gave it five stars and a gushing review. Check it out! I’d stayed in pretty much all the western chain hotels in the city and this hotel easily came out on top.|Five years later. A lot has happened in five years and especially in Wuhan.|If you don’t speak Chinese I would definitely advise you not to stay here. One person (who checked me out) had a little but not enough to do a good job. Staff in the food and beverage areas relied on mobile phone apps to translate my speech. Others just couldn’t understand me and I couldn’t understand them. As a result, I didn’t order any food or drink - not even breakfast - at the hotel as it was just too hard. I walked to the nearby (very expensive) cafes.|It’s such a shame. And I realise it is partly my fault for not speaking Chinese. But I wouldn’t stay here again and that is very sad given the wonderful experience I had...
Read moreI’ve stayed at this hotel off and on for over 10 years. For a while, all the rooms, including the non-smoking rooms, smelled like cigarettes. It was awful. During my recent stay, the hotel has implemented a non-smoking policy for all rooms. This has helped tremendously but there is still a slight cigarette odor due to people not following the rules. The bathroom tiles are extremely slick when wet so be careful. The shower door continues to have a leakage problem that has persisted since I first stayed there. The breakfast is decent but they no longer serve bacon which was disappointing. Overall, it’s not perfect but close to the place where I do business so I’m okay with it. The staff are friendly...
