Read moreThe hotel is an old establishment in Xiamen and in a fairly central area.I am sure it has seen its heydays. The bed smelled insecticide. The next morning, I asked them to replace the duvet and bed sheets, but it still stinked. It was then i realized that it was the mattress. A I didn't bother to change room, I put a blanket on top of the mattress and it got better. When we checked out, we were told that we have dirtied a face towel and we had to pay 20RMB for its replacement. When I asked what it was all about, the reception asked me to go back to my room to check it out with the housekeeper. The housekeeper said that the face towel had tea stink on it and could not be cleaned. She even asked me to wash it to prove her point. I went back to the reception and told them that I had not deliberately stink the face towel, and that the towels were all old, rugged and torn anyway. But they insisted that i have to pay for the replacement of the towel. They only let me go after I made it absolutely clear that I would not pay, and that I would tell everyone about this unpleasant experience. I am sure hotels would allow for wear and tear of towels. Why are they making guests to pay for these items is really beyond me. I would never go back to this...
Read moreThe location of the hotel is FANTASTIC. Just 7 minutes walk to the Paragon mall and a 15 yuan by taxi to the Xiamen Railway station to take a high speed train. There is a metro station just outside the hotel. Also very near to the SM 1, 2 and 3 malls to get local food of Xiamen and to buy local fruits from the Walmart supermarket. But the staff of the hotel are just AWESOME. So very helpful and friendly especially Ms Alice Yee and Mr Max Lee. Helped us to get a taxi on the first day especially my husband walks with a walking stick and directed the taxi driver in Mandarin to get us to our destination, the Railway Station. When we asked for information for the places of interest they provided tips and ways to get to these places and wrote the names of places of interest in Chinese. The staff made our holiday stay in Xiamen unforgettable as they made us so welcome. Even little requests for extra water bottles were met immediately The breakfast is great as we were looking to eat local food like porridge with all the side dishes and also...
