When I checked-in, I told the lady at the front desk that I would like to settle my bill with visa card. She told me that I can only use a union pay card and she charged the deposit to my union pay card. . However, I was able to settle my bill with my visa card when I checked out (by another staff). As an international brand hotel, I am surprised that the staff failed to operate the card machine for visa transactions.
The handle of the faucet in the shower cubicle fell off when I turned on the water; the shower cubicle drain was blocked which has caused water flooding in the toilet. I switched to the bath tub, but found water leaking in the plastic tube of the bath tub which made the water flooding even worse.
When I and my wife returned to the room after breakfast on the next day, the room make up was completed; however, there was no refill of soap or shampoo.
We went to the front desk at 3pm to report the issues 2-4 above and left the hotel for some sightseeing. We returned to the hotel at 8pm and your front desk staff told us ALL issues have been resolved.
When I returned to the room, the balcony door was widely opened, small insects running on the floor, and there were mosquitos inside the room. The lids of the shower drain were removed (i.e they have resolved the the drain block by a quick and dirty way); however, the problem of the handle of the faucet still not fixed, water leaking in then bath tub persisted, no shampoo/soap has not added.
I went to the front desk again to complain AGAIN. Finally they sent a guy to my room after 15 minutes and the faucet handle and water leakage have been fixed within 10 minutes. I waited another 15 minutes to get my soap and shampoo.
I found this service of the hotel is not up to the standard of Crown Plaza. I hope that by providing this feedback, I could help improve IHG's level of service and prevent the same experience to occur for...
Read moreI was sceptical about booking this place at first because it was at least twice the price of anything else nearby. But, the experience certainly did not disappoint.
Despite being a very busy long-weekend, all the staff at the resort remained friendly, happy and extremely attentive during my entire stay. so much so that I never left the premises from check-in to check-out.
Being within the premises the entire time meant that I could experience almost everything the property has to offer. Dining is definitely one of the biggest highlights.
I would like to give a personal compliment to Mr Eric Wu of F&B, he had managed to recognise me during my stay here and helped me out with my dining options.
Excellent BBQ place, the ingredients were very fresh and seasoned to my desire. the waiters were ready to meet my requests on having a table setup outside ...even though I was dining alone
Dinner buffet offered a good international range of options. Being Malaysian myself I was happy to find some of my favourite options available
Best breakfast in Yangjiang. Love your plain yogurt, omelette and bakery options
Amenities
Great to have both outdoor and indoor pools, the indoor being a perfect shape for swimming laps and the outdoor a good place to relax at. *the water level could be higher though
Gym, clean but the equipment needs to be refreshed, updated. some of it looks really tired
Room, please offer to sell me bath salts if you won't offer it for free. and the coffee/tea bags were never replaced.
hope I can use the hot springs next time :)
I do very much look forward to my...
Read moreThe GOOD: Management staff (hello, Carson!) were wonderful and super dedicated to making our stay pleasant; the property (pools, green space, etc.) is in relatively good shape; the "Ocean View" room was actually great - offered a fantastic view of the water and smelled nice and clean (no residual cigarette smell despite ash trays present in every room); consider springing for the suite - the extra space is worth the money; the golf course next door was very, very nice; tennis courts were available on the property.||The AVERAGE: Only one buffet restaurant on or near the property and it was 80% local food; in-room dining is available but they were often sold out of the Western options; about three staff members could speak English - but they always made an effort to find an English speaker for us. The spa was fine but not great.||The BAD: The beach is absolutely terrible - the hotel's "private" beach space is completely overwhelmed by non-hotel companies selling jetski rides, parasailing, and other water "adventures." There is no room on the bench to set a chair or towel because it's covered in these vendors' canopies... and they hassle you to buy something the minute you set foot on the sand. Further, the hotel recommends you stay OUT of the ocean because of these companies, which makes me think that swimmers are in danger from these "adventure companies" zooming back and forth along the coastline. The beach is a rotten experience that will make us think twice...
