Best Western Plus Grand Hotel Zhangjiajie — Hotel in Zhangjiajie

The hotel is very luxurious, with good location and great view from the window.Windows are dirty (that's probably a Chinese thing cause I saw it everywhere).There is no spa available so we were fooled to expect it - only foot massage and I don't consider this "a spa". There's photos of a swimming pool and they told me that's a bath place only FOR MEN.There's only 3 laundry machines for the whole building so you need to wait for a free one in case you want to wash clothes. No dry machines available, you hang the clothes in the room where the washing machines are.The restaurant in the hotel is not always available. The staff does NOT speak English (even if the hotel is "western"). That's a frequent thing to see in China.Breakfast is pretty rich, but mostly Chinese food options. Coffee is definitely not good, also the green tea. Hygiene is very good and rooms are maintained every day.No fridge in the room.Supermarket in the hotel works all the time and that was pretty...

Loved it. Older hotel with no English staff but that added to the fun and experience. I understand that it is not up to the standards of a western 4 star hotel but everyone there tries very hard and it really shows. People went above and beyond to help us and even though we were the dumb tourists, no one tried to overcharge us or sell us junk in or around the hotel. The hotel resturant is a little confusing at first and we were really disappointed night 1. But we gave it a second chance and the next 3 nights were perfect. Also we only ended up paying less than $30 Australian dollars for 3 courses and 2 soft drinks...in a hotel resturant? Completely unheard of. I'm in my bejing hotel writing this and they want something like $80aud p.p for their dinner buffet which looks much worse.

Loved staying at this hotel ! 10/10 I would recommend. As a tourist from out of the country I felt very welcome and well taken care of right from when I got there. The room was clean and the view of the mountains from my window was literally breathtaking. Also, I would like to say a big thank you to the hotel staff for being so helpful and efficient..when I first got into my room, I made a mistake and ended up blowing a fuse in my room.
