I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Zhengzhou and had a very pleasant experience overall. The hotel is well-located in the city, making it convenient to access major attractions, restaurants, and business areas. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff was courteous and helpful, though not overly warm.
The room was clean, modern, and well-maintained with all the basic amenities you'd expect from a Holiday Inn Express. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless with good water pressure. Wi-Fi connectivity was stable and fast, which was great for both work and entertainment.
The complimentary breakfast had a decent variety, with both Chinese and Western options available. While not gourmet, it was fresh and filling — good enough to start the day. I also appreciated the quiet environment in the hotel despite being in a busy part of the city.
One small area of improvement could be the English communication skills of some staff members, as I faced a bit of difficulty at times. But overall, they did try their best to assist.
For a short or business stay, this hotel offers great value for money. I would definitely consider staying here again...
Read moreThis is one of the places where you'd find everything you expect and need at a hotel - great location right next to the railway station, nice staff, clean rooms, good breakfast (very good actually), laundry service (effectively free, costs CNY0.01 per cycle) etc.. Anything beyond that, you'd have some trouble finding, which is fine considering its price point. The only bummer I experienced was that the hotel somehow couldn't take my Amex cards - not one, but all of them. I ended up using a Visa that I didn't know I was carrying but being an IHG property and having Amex listed on their website, this would have left me in a real pickle if I didn't have the Visa in my wallet. Apart from that, I have no problem coming back or...
Read moreThe hotel is relatively clean but very average. Expect to not sleep comfortably because rooms aren't allowed individual climate control, and even if you call the front desk to adjust your room temperature they will re-adjust it back to what you don't want while you sleep to make you uncomfortable once again. Would recommend spending a little bit more somewhere else to actually sleep well since the thermostat in each room is a lie, and even hotel staff say opening the window to try and help regulate the temperature is useless. If you're lucky, though, you might catch it at a time where their universal climate control works for you. Hotel staff are nice, just can't help you with...
