Holiday Inn Express Zhengzhou Zhongzhou — Hotel in Zhengzhou

My family of 4 kids, my wife and I came to Zhengzhou to adopt a little girl through CCAI. We stayed for 8 days from dec 28, on. I can’t begin to express the gratitude for the service provided by the team members under their GM - Raymond. from the moment we were greeted by Wilson and Alice, Their compassion and professionalism for our family was displayed in an above and beyond for the entire stay. Also met Wendy, the local manager who introduced herself to me and asked to be contacted if there was anything we needed. Needless to stay, her staff was so good that we never needed her for anything. We were set up in adjoining rooms and the rooms were always kept neat, nothing was cracked, everything worked. Even though there was a language barrier with the cleaning maids, we were able to communicate with my crude “sign” language “Pictionary style” and get anything we needed; with a smile…they always had a smile. There was this older gentleman by the elevator, always cleaning, whenever he saw us coming he simply reacted immediately and helped us with all our elevator needs…not a big deal for some, but when your entourage consists of so many little people, it’s a big deal for us to get help whenever we can get it. Every morning, our entourage would eat at the restaurant, everybody from the welcoming host to the folks that cooked our eggs went above and beyond an American’s expectation of service despite the language barrier. Their service oriented reaction to our needs before we would ask, was impressive to say the least. If language is an issue, you have wifi at the restaurant, take out your phone, get the image of how you want your eggs and show it to the cook, she’ll make them with a smile. The breakfast buffet and dinner choices were great and they tasted great, too. First of all, I found that this hotel has a strange set-up (but in no way affected its quality). It was connected at the back to another hotel, and was located adjacent to and in the same complex as a Crowne Plaze and a Holiday Inn.. It seemed that long ago, this was a hotel complex owned by the state. Later on, it was divided up into different plots for different hotels.||||Location||The hotel was actually located right between the Zhengzhou train station and Zhengzhou East train station. Zhengzhou station was located in the old city center, while the Zhengzhou East station was located in a newly developed modern office-residential area located in the east.||||There were bus stops right in front of and near to the hotel. Taking a bus to the Zhengzhou East station and the Zhengzhou Museum was a breeze. Bus fares in Zhengzhou were only RMB1.00, and very efficient (they have dedicated bus lanes). I travelled to and fro the Zhengzhou East station using the bus without any problem at all.||||Next to the hotel was a park, and also a Dennis departmental store after the park.||||Room||Clean and big room, Comfortable stay and good sleep. Really nothing to complain.||||Breakfast||Stayed for 2 nights. However, the first morning I had to take breakfast at 6 am (breakfast started at 6 am) but the food was not fully serived yet and I didn't have too much time to enjoy the food.||||For the 2nd morning, I had to leave at 4.45 am. So again, there was no chance for me to savour it again.||||But from the short period I had breakfast on the first morning, the food was great.||||Will stay again...

I had been to Zhengzhou for business. I stayed in this hotel beliving that there were some Muslims restaurant nearby where i can have Halal food especially indian flavour. This is the budget property of IHG so we cannot expect same facilities like Holiday inn and Crowne Plaza. The rooms are smaller in size particlularly the bathrooms. The staff is very polite and helpful whcih was very good to see with slight knowledge of English. They serve breakfast complimentary but they must think about adding some other dishes too particularly Halal food as you see many people from India and middle east comming there. There was nothing much that can be mentioned about the hotel as i mentioned before it does not provide any service like Holiday inn or crowne plaza does due to its low price. But if we compare this hotels in terms of price with service i guess it is equivalent to Holiday inn and crowne plaza. as they charge you bit more owing to its service. I was lucky to have crowne plaza next to this hotel where i could go and have some chicken which was not available in this hotel Hotel should thake care about ammending its Menu. for those who travel on business purpose this can be good option for them.
